I was raised in a fundamentalist Seventh-Day Adventist home. While attending an Adventist college, I started to doubt my faith, and over the next 2 years, I deconstructed my faith until realizing, much to my surprise, that I had become an atheist. I am in recovery from religious trauma, as well as other mental health problems. I work as a peer support specialist.
