Daniel Chapter 2: Bible Study by Atheists

Daniel Chapter 2:

Hold onto your hats, folks, because things are getting dreamily dramatic in Babylon! In this episode of Sacrilegious Discourse, Husband and Wife dive into the mind-bending visions of King Nebuchadnezzar and the high-stakes game of "Guess My Dream" that could cost Babylon's wise men their lives.

Our hosts break down the chapter where Nebuchadnezzar demands his magicians, enchanters, and astrologers to not only interpret his troubling dream but to first tell him what the dream was! Talk about setting the bar high. With the threat of being chopped to pieces and their houses turned to rubble, the wise men are understandably freaking out.

Enter Daniel, our hero, who, with a little divine intervention, steps up to decode the king's cryptic dream. Spoiler alert: It involves a dazzling statue made of various metals and a rock that becomes a mountain. Confused? So were we. But don't worry, Husband and Wife are here to dissect the symbolism and the not-so-subtle message of God's ultimate dominion.

Join the hosts as they navigate through Nebuchadnezzar's extreme mood swings—from ordering mass executions to falling prostrate before Daniel. It's a wild ride of divine revelations, questionable historical accuracy, and, of course, a hefty dose of skepticism and sarcasm.

Will Daniel's God-given insight save the day? Or is this just another recycled biblical narrative? Tune in to find out!

[00:00:00] Welcome to Sacrilegious Discourse. For this is what the sovereign Lord says, Why do you need prophets to tell people who you are and what you want? If you can justify everything that the God of the Bible has done,

[00:00:12] then you can justify any of your behavior. A lot of this mentality is trickling into what is now mainstream right wing Christianity. I am capable of empathy greater than this God of the Bible.

[00:00:26] This is a Bible that they tell kids, this is the good Lord, this is the good book, this is He is fantasizing about murder, mass murder. And over to Sacrilegious Discourse.com right now I got how to read a sort of you or some

[00:00:42] who doesn't hate you. Wife, do you know where we are today and how the hell we got here? Well, we are in Daniel, the book of Daniel. And we just finished with Daniel chapter 1 and in that chapter, we're kind of getting the backstory

[00:01:05] on Daniel. These sets how it comes across. It's like an intro. Right, right, right, and we're back in the Babylonian exile. Right. And Daniel was one of the people that was taken in that first round of exile in where they took the best and the brightest and the

[00:01:20] youngest and the prettiest and the most beautiful and whatever. And so they took them to Babylon and these were that Daniel and some other kids that they mentioned. His buddies. His buddies, yes. His brother was his homies. We're young and godly apparently. And they

[00:01:40] were told that they had to eat certain things but they were like nom and they went and talked to the guard and they're like can you help us out here man? Like we're, and he's like,

[00:01:49] I don't know, you guys might not look as good as other people when you don't eat the right things and just give us a chance. And then they did and everything worked out because god,

[00:01:57] I guess whatever. And then they became the best in the brightest and that's where we are. That is an amazing recap. Yeah, that's what happened. What do they're about? I mean, it was a sort of very storyline driven. So like to tell the synopsis of what happened.

[00:02:18] I kind of have to tell the story. That's true. And so to shorten the story, I have to make it sound stupid. Yes. And so that's what I did. You succeeded. You succeeded. Good job. Thanks. Thanks.

[00:02:30] I appreciate that. I was really going for like the best synopsis of Daniel chapter one ever. And I think I fell a little short. No, I think I won. Okay. All right. Right. Yeah.

[00:02:41] So that was Daniel chapter one. Sure. That was. Which means that today we're getting into two. All right. Let's do this. Okay. Okay. Okay. We are happening in two rule the second chapter. Yeah. Yes. A big D. That's this. This is the new. That's his name instead of

[00:03:06] easy count now we're in big D. Sure. Fuck. All right. So Daniel. Daniel. Yeah. Just as a reminder, this book is divided into two parts and we are still in the first part, which is chapter one through

[00:03:20] six. Is it a shorter book? Yeah. There's only 12 chapters. Oh wow. Yeah. Okay. And I felt like it might be but I wasn't sure. So yeah. The first six are a set of court tales. Okay. And they're basically

[00:03:35] about like Daniel and his buddies and how they are like challenged to do godly things and then god helps them and they succeed. Yeah. How wonderful. And then seven through 12 are about four apocalyptic visions. Of course. And then there's three stories that are left out of our Bible

[00:03:56] that were in some of the earlier renditions that we're also going to read later. Okay. Okay. Sounds good. So all right. Let's get over here into chapter two. Okay. Okay. Yeah. In the second year of his reign,

[00:04:09] Nebuchadnezzar had dreams. You know, as you do. Yeah. His mind was troubled and he could not sleep. He got trouble right here in his brain hole. Yeah. So the king summoned the magicians and

[00:04:24] chanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. Okay. When they came in and stood before the king, he said to them, I've had a dream that troubles me. And I want to know what

[00:04:35] sounds very much like the story of Joseph and yeah, it does. I mean like this is it's a story but later. It's the same story. Yeah. It's the same story. Yeah. Because they're not very imaginative

[00:04:47] back then. Right. Well, I feel as we're getting into some of these later books, they steal heavily from water stories in the Bible. Yeah. There's really like 10 major stories and they just recycle them

[00:04:56] in the whole world. Yeah. And that's how we move out that before actually. And it's not entirely true. It's not entirely untrue. This far as like the themes behind the stories and things like that. Right. Right. Then the astrologers answered the king, made a king live forever. Dude,

[00:05:15] tell your servants the dream and we'll totally interpret it. Okay. Okay. Yeah. But the king replied to the astrologers, ooh, this is what I have firmly decided. If you do not tell me what my dream

[00:05:28] was and interpret it. So you better even just have to know what the dream was before we even get into this. Yeah. Yeah. And you have to have it interpreted. Yeah. Okay. So tell me what I dreamed

[00:05:39] and then tell me what it means. It seems a little like the bars a little high, you can. But I mean that's a good way to test out your profits because if you can't do that, I will have you cut into

[00:05:51] fucking pieces and your house is turned into piles of fucking rubble. I would like to resign. I am not an astrologer. I am a cook. Yeah. I know longer want this job. I am the palace gardener.

[00:06:07] Thanks, Emily. Right. But if you tell me the dream and explain it, you will receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. That's just what I wanted. How well can you guess?

[00:06:19] So tell me the dream and interpret it for me. Once more, they replied, uh, let the King tell us servants the dream and we will interpret it. Then the King answered, I am certain that you are

[00:06:36] trying to gain time because you realize that this is what I firmly decided. If you do not tell me the dream, there is only one penalty for you. You have conspired to tell me misleading and

[00:06:49] wicked things, hoping the situation will change. So then tell me the fucking dream and I will know that you can interpret it for me. I think these guys got into something they weren't like this is

[00:07:01] this is some bullshit. Like this is actually not what I signed up for. Right? That is not in my contract. Yeah, I win. You win. You win. You win. You win. Workers raise their apparently not a thing back then.

[00:07:15] Not high on the primary list. The astrologers answered the King. There is no one on earth who can do what this King asks. No King. However, great and mighty has ever asked such a thing.

[00:07:27] Oh, then you magician or an enter or astrologer? I feel like Daniel is going to get these fuckers chopped into bits. I feel like they are going to get themselves chopped into bits. What the

[00:07:36] King asks is too difficult. I mean, they're whiny but they're right. Yeah. No one can reveal it to the King except the gods and they do not live among humans. Oh. Okay. I mean they're not wrong. Right?

[00:07:50] This made the King so angry and furious that he ordered the execution of all the wise men of Babylon. This is correct. That'll learn them. Wow. That's really quickly. He was nice.

[00:08:04] I see what God hired this guy. Yeah, he's broken bananas. So the decree was issued to put the wise men to death and men were sent to look for Daniel on his friends to put them to death. Oh.

[00:08:16] Because they're part of his team, right? Oh. Is it okay? Okay. All right. They're about to get everybody. He's about to kill everybody. Everybody. Okay. Everybody in the court gets chopped up.

[00:08:27] You know, I would do kind of shitty. If I was one of these Babylonians or one of these Israelites that got brought over because I was smart and beautiful and whatever. And like you're one of

[00:08:38] the smart people who's also a prophet. Whatever. You're that person. You're wise. You're good at things. You've got a good job. You're raising up and sighted. And because you can't tell me what my

[00:08:48] dream was. I'm going to kill you now. Yeah. That's how it be. It's fucked. When Erriak, the commander of the King's guard had gone out to put to death, the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with

[00:09:01] wisdom and tact. He asked the King's officer, why did the King issue such a harsh decree? Right. And like, Erriak then explained the matter to Daniel at this. Daniel went into the King

[00:09:15] and asked for time so that he might interpret the dream for him. I have a problem with this scenario. I do too. Because if you got sent out by your King, who is very fickle and petty, obviously.

[00:09:28] Obviously. Do you allow, do you entertain this kid who is going to rectify things for you? Yeah. Like hey, hey, hey. Okay. Look. I'm going to play the guard. Right. And you play the kid.

[00:09:42] Got it. Yeah. Hey, kid. Yeah. I have to kill you. Why? I mean, here's the way the story should go. Don't fucking worry about it. You're dead. Boom. Done. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. That's the way it would have gone. But okay. God. Yeah. So instead of hey,

[00:10:00] kid. Yeah. What? What's up? I have to kill you. I'm not going to do it until we play 20 questions though. Yeah. So what, what, what, what do you kill me for? Is it blue?

[00:10:12] No. You're guessing that's right. Okay. Sorry. So I said do it again. Do it again. What are you killing me for? I am killing you for the King. Why is the King killing me?

[00:10:22] Because he's a wackadoodle. I don't know. You know the King, how he be. But like, what is his reason for doing? He's been about a fucking dream or some shit out. You know what? I'm going to not kill

[00:10:32] you yet. I want you going in Ask them because I didn't really understand what was happening because I'm not a fucking wise man at the right. Yeah. All right. So then Daniel returned to his house.

[00:10:44] Oh, and then he just went, you know, right on in and was like, hey King, what up? Yeah. That's that's odd. Like you're going from there to the King. You're going from being

[00:10:52] executed by the King to just walking in and talking. He's like, hang on, hang on, hang on. Wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on. I got to run this by the King right quick. Hey,

[00:11:01] this kid that you conquered his land and killed his people. He's got a really great idea they want to run by you, I think. Yeah. He would like to confront your us. How about are you okay with

[00:11:11] that King? Right. Yeah, no. No, that's not how that works. This would not happen in any any world. It's unrealistic. So stupid. It is. All right. Sorry. Go ahead, Daniel. But so obviously written by people who just really want to make a great story of God.

[00:11:25] It's not a very great story. No, because it's not believable. I know. They should ask somebody like me to write it. I could do a better job. Yeah. Then Daniel returned to his house

[00:11:34] because they asked for time. I thought that's what the other dudes asked for. But this guy asked for time and in the King's like sure. But if he can interpret dreams and no dreams, why does he need time?

[00:11:45] He's got a pre first. But so God's on a timeframe like God's got to know Daniel's like, hey, can I have some time? I have to go pray to ask God to tell me what your dream was. Okay. All right.

[00:11:57] Like, I don't just know it. But he had no patience with the other ones. That's what I'm seeing. Like why did Daniel get favor? And they're probably already chopped in the bits that they were,

[00:12:06] you know, like they're like alligator food. It ain't fair. No. Then Daniel returned to his house and explain them out of two friends, Hannah and I Michelle and Azaria. Okay. He urged them to plead for

[00:12:19] God of Heaven concerning this mystery so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Oh, I guess they had executed yet. Okay. All right. Well,

[00:12:30] least, at least not all of them anyway. But I bet those ones are there. He probably just had them, you know, beheaded right there. Yeah. He's like, you're done so. Yeah. Yep. If I had to guess. And if I had

[00:12:41] heard that news and I wasn't living in the court, I would have my rake and my gardener hat and I would be like no wise men here. Right. Right. If I were Daniel, if I were anybody that was in this scenario,

[00:12:55] and I didn't have a media answer, I'd be asking for time and to be able to go to my house and then fucking getting lost. Pack and leave or don't even pack. You don't need clean underwear.

[00:13:06] Right. Just get the fuck out of there. I don't mind my underwear being dirty and a weak old. I hear China's good this time. Because you know what? Living is better than not living. Right? Yeah.

[00:13:16] So whatever during the night, the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a visual. Of course it was because God, you know. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven and said, praise be to his name of God forever and

[00:13:31] ever. Wisdom and power are his. He changes times in seasons. He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things.

[00:13:45] He knows what lies in darkness and light dwells with him. I think in praise you, God of my ancestors, you have given me wisdom and power. You have made known to me what we asked of you.

[00:13:56] You have made known to us the dream of the King. Okay. Well, I don't believe this. No. Not even a little. Do you know what I dream last night? No. I don't know what you dream either. Right. Because

[00:14:13] if you said that you're going to chop me in a bit because I couldn't come up with it, I'd probably just leave or call the FBI. Yeah. They tried to recreate today. Somebody did. Yeah. I don't know who the FBI but they said they were.

[00:14:26] I'm like you clearly have not met me because I'm not the right body type and be. Yeah. I cannot keep my fucking mouth shut. I would be a terrible spy. I can't keep fucking secret.

[00:14:40] They're not all spies. Some of them were invested just investigators and stuff. I can't investigate shit. What are you? You're investing to get the Bible? Maybe that's where they're going to be. That's where they're based on. This bitch over here, you want to just investigate and that Bible.

[00:14:56] Right good. This is good. She comes across as younger than every man. That's so smart. We need this one. Yeah. We also have to share this. I don't know if this is real or not. So I did send them an email back

[00:15:13] because I'm curious because I was sent the email to see very legitimate. I, I, I, it's probably it's gotta be a skin. It's gotta be a skin. It's gotta be a skin. I would

[00:15:21] not even even at the time of day. I probably shouldn't have. But I did. They're offering us like $25,000 for a voice. It's just like that amazing for a podcast. I don't know. But it was

[00:15:34] from like I looked up the company. It's not completely illegitimate. It's not your hand. It didn't come from like a spammy email address. So like, oh no. Is it real? No. It's not real.

[00:15:45] $25,000? No, but email my given us $25,000. That's crazy. Yeah. That's crazy. No waste given us that. Our podcast hasn't made $25,000 over the entire time. It's just in the 40 years. That's awesome. I don't think we've even made like the first thing you do. $1,000. Right. Yeah.

[00:16:03] When we've made probably that much. And for you in total. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. At least. Yeah. $1 to $2,000. We're under the $5,000 mark. Oh for sure. Honestly, I'm impressed if we made over $1,000. Right. Yeah. All right. So then Daniel went to Erriak, the guard guy, whom the king

[00:16:23] had appointed to execute the wiseman of Babylon. They'll do this fucking duty. I will just put that out there and said to him, hey wait. Do not execute the wiseman of Babylon. He's not on,

[00:16:34] he's not on. Take me to the king and I will interpret his dream for him. Wait, this one kid's going to save the rest of them. I thought they were just trying to save themselves. And why would this king

[00:16:44] save the rest of the wiseman if wouldn't they all have to be able to do it? Like why is it just why is it dependent on anybody, any one person that we're? Like one could tell me so therefore

[00:16:55] I'll kill none or how about I'll kill all of them except for this one. I mean, I'm all four not killing. Yeah. I can see why Daniel's like, wait, wait, wait, don't kill everybody. But I

[00:17:06] can't see why the king would listen. Right. He's already a man. Very petty. Yeah. Yeah. Area took Daniel to the king at once and said, I have found a man among the exiles from Judah

[00:17:18] who can tell the king what his fucking dream means. A man, because the last I heard he was like 10. Well, now he's a man. He must be 12. No, okay. You know, the way it be. Yeah. Okay.

[00:17:28] The king asked Daniel also called Votesa Saur. But he doesn't go by that because he refused to. Yeah. He got renamed in. He was like, no thanks. Sure. So the king asked, are you able to tell me what I saw on my dream and interpret it? Daniel replied,

[00:17:43] no wise men and chanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about. But there is a god in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar

[00:17:56] what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you were lying in bed are these. As your majesty was lying there, your mind turned to things to come

[00:18:09] and the revealer of mysteries showed you what is going to happen. As for me, this mystery has been revealed to me not because I have greater wisdom than anyone else alive. But so that your

[00:18:22] majesty may know the interpretation and that you may understand what went through your mind. Uh-huh. Right. So what is it? Fucking get there. Yeah. Because it sounds like a fucking palm reading. He's like the answer to your question, which I'm about to give you.

[00:18:37] Is the answer? Is the answer? And it's not the answer you expected but it's the answer you deserve. Right. And the question is a really good question to which an answer is absolutely necessary.

[00:18:52] Wait, you're going on for 10 fucking minutes. What is the fucking answer? Also you'll meet someone dark handsome and whatever. Yeah. What's the worst, the normal thing that happens? I can't see them in whatever. You know, you'll have good fortune all your days.

[00:19:05] You're all right. Yeah. Rich and famous or whatever. The cookie, the fortune. Fortune cookies things. Although they aren't really fortunate. No, now they say oxygen is air. Like thank you for that information. And I will call the press. I feel like they must have

[00:19:21] got sued. They must have like what happened to fortune cookies? They're not fortunes or facts. Yeah, they're the dumb. Their facts are observation. Do not like fortune cookies any more? No,

[00:19:30] they piss me off every time. I don't want them anymore. No. I'm like don't put that shit in my Chinese food to go thing because it's when I see it, I'm going to be angry. Yeah, they used to

[00:19:41] find it. Now they suck. They suck. You know what? There's always one in the bunch that fucking has to complain. And this is why we can't have nice things. All right, ready? Okay, so Daniel's talking about this dream and not answering it,

[00:19:57] but promising he's about to. Okay. Okay. Your majesty looked and there before you stood a large statue and enormous dazzling statue, awesome and appearance. Sounds like he's describing it though.

[00:20:12] Sounds like he's actually no in the dream. Yes, he is. The head of the statue was made of pure gold. It's chest and arms of silver. It's belly and thighs of bronze. It's legs of iron.

[00:20:27] It's feet, partly of iron, and partly of baked clay. This statue sounds very confused. That's what it wants to be when a statue is trying out different things. Yeah. Don't judge. I'm not judging. I'm not saying it's just, it doesn't know. Maybe it's what

[00:20:45] of the things that once. I guess it, why does it have to decide? I feel like the person that made it would have a really tough time making all these things work together. Well, that would be

[00:20:55] God check with him. Okay. All right. While you were out watching, you know, this is Dan still talking. Right. While you were watching a rock was cut out, but not by human hands, it struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. A hand-in-win

[00:21:13] things land on my peggies. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a threshing floor in a summer. Oh, just, I don't think

[00:21:28] gold and silver and iron for that matter is shattering to pieces. This is a dream. Okay. I don't know. The winds swept them away without leaving a trace continues Daniel. Okay.

[00:21:41] Continue to die. No strong wind. Yeah, but the rock in the dream. Yeah, the strong wind in the dream. I know. Okay. Okay. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole

[00:21:53] earth. Hmm. This was the dream. And now we will interpret it to the king. Oh, I mean, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Me too. Your majesty. Oh, you are the king of kings. The god of heaven has given

[00:22:08] you dominion and power and might and glory in your hands. He has placed all mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds and the sky wherever they live. He has made you ruler

[00:22:23] over them all. You are that head of gold. After you another kingdom will rise in fear ear to yours. Next, a third kingdom one of bronze will rule over the whole earth. Finally,

[00:22:39] there will be a fourth kingdom strong as iron for iron breaks and smashes everything and as iron breaks things to pieces. So it will crush and break all the others just as you saw that

[00:22:53] the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron. So this will be a divided kingdom. Yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it even as you saw iron mixed with clay.

[00:23:10] As the toe, I'm so not following this just so I know. I mean, I'm trying. Yeah, I'm trying. I feel like this, I'm not sure that this is the best message to give to this guy. He's like, you totally

[00:23:22] fucking suck and someday you'll die and well, no, he's definitely promoting Nebuchadnezzar right? Easy. You same your awesome but once you're done you're kingdom's going to and I feel like the description of the iron and the clay is kind of a reference to the Southern

[00:23:45] tribes and the Northern tribes of Israel. Possibly. Possibly. I don't think so. Well, but that's he's talking about bringing those things together right? And so there's this whole idea in the Old Testament that we've been going over thus far where they've been talking about

[00:24:03] bringing these tribes back together. In fact, in Ezekiel, they were stacking them you know in a seven layer salad type deal right? And so I feel like this is them trying to come back together

[00:24:12] because we even commented in Ezekiel where many of these tribes don't exist anymore, or at least in any recognizable form. Right. So the fact that they're trying to bring them back together is more

[00:24:24] of a mental exercise than it is a realistic exercise right? And so a lot of these things are portrayed through visions and this is one of those things where the clay to me kind of represents the

[00:24:39] the idols and the iron represents that I don't know why they're using iron because God early on didn't like iron. But then later there were some references where iron was used to represent

[00:24:52] God too as a strong binding. Unbreak metal right? So I feel like this is a representation of God mixed with idols and that the rebuild bigger than ever and the idols will get broken down.

[00:25:08] We'll definitely get broken down in the iron will stay. Right? That's how I'm feeling about this. I'm not really sure what all the gold and bronze and all that shit is but I'm assuming it's

[00:25:17] other other kingdom. Other kingdoms are going to fight for this area that eventually will just get ground down to God's kingdom. Right. So as the toes were partly iron and partly clay,

[00:25:31] so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united any more than iron mixes

[00:25:46] with clay. Okay. In the time of those kings, the God of Heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring

[00:26:01] them to an end but it will itself endure forever. This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of the mountain but not by human hands. A rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay,

[00:26:15] the silver, and the gold to pieces. The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy because I said so. Right. But again

[00:26:32] even though maybe he's giving this dream correct I guess according to this story. Right. The dream is still very vague and you know the interpretation of it here. He's not really giving

[00:26:44] any specific system what it means. Yeah. I think he's just relying on the like this still sounds very much like a palm reading where you're like you're gonna have awesome things happen to you

[00:26:55] and then eventually someday when you're old you're gonna die. I'm gonna turn that bad stuff but the end. Well sometimes they're like oh Wednesday's gonna be a very unlucky day for you. Sure. Stay home because you might run into trouble like maybe you'll get a parking ticket

[00:27:13] or maybe you'll fall off a cliff. Yeah. Nobody knows a meteor might land on her house. And then if you do go out Wednesday and you trip over a crack. Then you're like god damn it they were

[00:27:24] like the state home on Wednesday god damn it. Yeah. You're like I have a hang nail fucking Wednesday. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This is this is it's a dream and and moreover it's a weird dream

[00:27:41] and there's lots of fucking metals in a statue and okay I guess god told you what it means. And it's like this makes no sense because really never like they're they're just taking too many

[00:27:51] ideas and trying to make it all work together. Yeah because Nebuchadnezzar yes was supposedly the tool of god but now we're getting this like side of him where he literally is talking to

[00:28:05] profits of god about what his dreams mean and then I guess he's probably going to accept this interpretation. I don't know. Well there's more Daniel so I'm assuming it's a good thing.

[00:28:16] At least he doesn't kill him. So I don't know. I'm whatever it is what it is. Then yeah sorry King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor and ordered that an offering and incense be presented

[00:28:33] to him. That's the fuck sake. That's side that you gave. Yeah it was the heaviest sign in the world. You're so disappointed. This guy was rid of the chat them all in a bit. And now we're going

[00:28:45] to prostrate in front of them. What come on? Yep. Yep. Can you have fucking break? The King then said to Daniel, surely your god is the god of gods and the Lord of Kings and a revealer of

[00:28:59] mysteries for you were able to reveal this mystery. Then the King placed Daniel in a high position and lavished many gifts on him instead of killing him. Yeah he made him ruler over the entire

[00:29:12] province of Babylon and placed him in charge of all its wise men kind of like Pharaoh did with Joseph. Yeah no it's the exact same fucking story. Right? Yeah only this is more god's centric.

[00:29:24] Yes. Right. The whole Joseph story there was god in there but not the same way. Yeah um Joseph had the power to interpret dreams but he didn't talk to god about it. Well we don't know that

[00:29:41] for sure. I mean that wasn't in the story at any rate whereas Daniel's like hang on let me go talk to him. Well we're being told to believe more over that this Nebuchadnezzar King guy

[00:29:52] is like impressed with this god. Yeah when he's got his own fucking gods. Yeah not only that but he's just conquered so many fucking lands he probably thinks he's god. Yeah I don't probably believe that he's actually you know falling over backwards over this goddamn person who's quoting

[00:30:10] his god to him and I don't believe that. No I don't mean there. Moreover at Daniel's request the King appointed Shadrach Mishaish and Abidnego you know his three friends. Yeah his homies. Right um he the King appointed them administrators over the province of Babylon while Daniel himself

[00:30:32] remained at the royal court being and okay man this is all working out just swimming leave for them right man. I can't imagine um if he hadn't got this I mean if he hadn't got

[00:30:45] this right shit they would all just died. Hell if he hadn't spoke up in that guard hadn't you know pushed his message over to the King. They'd all died. Yeah but no god got up here and I had

[00:30:56] their back and we got to believe because they're writing about this like 400 years later that this actually happens. Exactly. You got to you got to believe you man that's that's what this is all about

[00:31:05] if you don't if you can't believe that somebody wrote that's 400 years later and got it exactly right how it happened then what the fuck are you doing here? I don't know this is the Bible man

[00:31:15] this is the word of God even if it's 400 years later and that's that's what we're supposed to get from this I guess I don't know I'm just saying it's like some really well written bullshit

[00:31:25] is what it sounds like to me. It sounds like some poorly written bullshit that's what I'm but yeah it's better than some of the other stuff. It is it is yeah you're right I don't want to give

[00:31:35] it too much hell but I'm right I just I can't it's just too over the top though this is too over the top like you said they're trying to do too much and stuff too many things into it. Right

[00:31:49] yeah so it makes it very unbelievable and knowing when this was written also does not help me with that either. Right it's like oh you're so silly. Right yeah all right well I think is that all

[00:32:00] we got for today? That's all we got for today. All right well that was Daniel chapter two. Sure spoke was which means that will be back tomorrow with big dude chapter three. All right we'll see you then bye!
