[00:00:00] Hey everyone, husband here.

[00:00:05] And I'm wife.

[00:00:06] If you've been listening to us, then you know we're all about reading the Bible and

[00:00:10] reacting to it on our first read-through.

[00:00:12] Cuss words, crying, laughing, and more.

[00:00:14] We're passionate about creating a podcast that takes the sanctity out of the sacred

[00:00:17] text and simply stating it as we see it.

[00:00:19] But we can't do it without your help.

[00:00:21] We're asking for your support to help us keep this podcast going.

[00:00:24] There are two ways you can donate. we're reading the Bible for the very first time. We grew up without religion and wanted to know what all the fuss was about. Well, what have we learned so far? That God is a dick and apparently some people believe in talking donkeys? We're not trying to pass ourselves off as experts. Nope, we're just reading the Bible for the first time and giving our first take reaction. If you'd like to join us in this venture, you might consider starting in episode 1.

[00:01:42] Otherwise, jump in wherever you like.

[00:01:44] Alright, let's go read the Bible.

[00:01:46] Yeah, let's want to tell you about a company that I've been loving, Olive and June. Olive and June gives you everything that you need for a salon quality manicure in one box. And if you break it down, it really comes out to $2 a manicure, which is absolutely insane. It's also so easy to get salon worthy nails at home with Olive and June.

[00:03:02] The difference between how your nails used to look when you did them yourself and now

[00:03:06] with the Manny system is a complete game changer. Okay, so we're about to hop into the book of Jeremiah. We sure are. And we know he's not a bullfrog, but other than that, we don't know a lot about it. I don't know shit about Jeremiah. Yeah, I don't either. Yeah. Well, I mean, I do now because I took some notes. Yeah. And so I thought I would give us a little intro before I hop into chapter one.

[00:04:21] Okay, sure.

[00:04:22] So the book of Jeremiah is the longest book in the Bible.

[00:04:25] Oh, fucking hell.

[00:04:26] I know. Jeremiah was one of the major prophets of the Hebrew Bible and according to Jewish tradition Jeremiah authored the book of Jeremiah the books of Kings so both first and second Kings all right and The book of Lamentations sorry I lost my place we have not got to right right so apparently he did that one too

[00:05:41] Okay with the assistance and under the editorship of Baruch Ben Nariah

[00:06:42] in Islamic tradition. Interesting.

[00:06:42] Okay.

[00:06:43] So I probably could have gone on and said more,

[00:06:46] but that I think plays the good foundation for.

[00:06:49] Okay, who the fuck, why?

[00:06:51] Right. Yeah.

[00:06:51] Yeah.

[00:06:52] Okay.

[00:06:53] So now we're gonna start Jeremiah chapter one.

[00:06:55] Sounds great.

[00:06:56] The words of Jeremiah, son of Hylkiah,

[00:06:58] one of the priests at Anathoth

[00:07:01] in the territory of Benjamin.

[00:07:03] Okay.

[00:07:03] The word of the Lord came to him

[00:07:05] in the 13th year of King Josiah in 627 BCE

[00:08:21] until the deportation of the people from Jerusalem about bit better now. Okay. All right Yeah, the word of the Lord came to me. So now I'm Jeremiah, right?

[00:09:41] Before I formed you in the womb. I knewiah's reign that he quote unquote, sought the Lord. And a few years later began an aggressive campaign to purify Israel of idolatry and to return to the Lord. So God called both Josiah and Jeremiah

[00:11:00] to serve him and his people at the same time.

[00:11:02] I see.

[00:11:03] So this would have been better served to like

[00:11:05] greed, well, way back then.

[00:11:07] Sure, sure, sure.

[00:12:05] century BCE, which is going to be very interesting to see kind of like because we're seeing them right

[00:12:07] This is gonna butt right up against the exile. Yeah So like we're we're gonna see how this whole thing transitions into that or at least gets close to it

[00:12:13] Exactly. So with regard to the call and preparation. Yeah of the

[00:12:21] The call in preparation to the prophet Jeremiah right

[00:13:24] dude I'm too young I can't do this like what yeah yeah Jeremiah was probably anywhere from 17 to 20 years old at this time oh yeah he likely felt that his

[00:13:34] inexperience due to his young age prevented him from being a good or

[00:13:38] authoritative messenger of God's word got it so you know yeah blah blah blah These verses contain a play on words that is lost in English. So when he said, you have seen correctly for I'm watching to see that my word is fulfilled. That was a play on words. But he's like, I see a almond tree. So that makes it a little, okay, I'll let you have that because I love word play. Right, right, yeah.

[00:15:01] So I just wonder how many times we've missed stuff like that

[00:15:04] where we're like, that, why did that stupid? entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, they will come against all her surrounding walls and against all the towns of Judah. I will pronounce my judgments on my people because of their wickedness and forsake me in burning incensed other gods and in worshiping what their hands have made. Get yourself ready.

[00:16:20] Get ready.

[00:16:21] Stand up and say to them whatever I command you, is a much better story so far. I like too that there's a note about it that he wrote this either with or it was written by an editor. His disciple or follower, helper.

[00:17:43] I would think that would mean that this is going to be a little bit stronger. use discord before joining hardly I still don't know. Yeah, wife still doesn't know something she gets she's getting better though. I got into the room a couple times ago myself. And they don't even call it a room. I don't even know what the fuck it's called. We have so much fun. We do at the discord events. We really want to see you all there. So please join. And then that

[00:19:00] was Jeremiah chapter one. Sure as fuck was which means that tomorrow

[00:19:05] we're going to be back with insofar as story. So far, so far. We'll see how it goes. Yeah. I'm not convinced yet that it's gonna be that much better. No, I mean, it was only one chapter. So at least it's not Isaiah. Right. So there's that. There is that.

[00:20:20] Yeah.

[00:20:21] So anyway, that was Jeremiah chapter one.

[00:20:23] Sure as fuck was.

[00:20:24] Which means that today we're getting into.

[00:20:26] Jeremiah chapter two.

[00:20:27] All right, let's do this.

[00:20:28] Okie dokie. first fruits of his harvest. Hold on, I call bullshit on this. Do you remember their journey? Yes. Quote unquote through the wilderness. This is supposed to be like once they got there and yeah, maybe it wasn't all roses, but he got them there. There was never, there was never a point where God was happy with fucking Israelites. No, it's true. Like never, not ever.

[00:21:40] It's true.

[00:21:41] All who devoured her were held guilty

[00:21:44] and disaster overtook them, though the northern kingdom of Israel representing the 10 northern tribes fell to the Assyrians some 100 years before Jeremiah's work as a prophet okay God refers to Judah and Jerusalem as representing all of Israel because it's all That's what it was yeah, okay, so that's one thing okay Yeah, the other thing is that note that I just said they went after worthlessness and became worthless themselves

[00:23:05] I kind of liked that

[00:23:07] wording and He lit some of them on fire. I mean, there was all he I mean he killed But no, I'm sorry, but he was bad too. He was bad Yes, and he didn't like him all no no and so he's like what We're why aren't you asking where I'm at and I'm like do you not hear them asking where you're at all the fucking time right? Yeah, they are that's what this whole fucking book is about. They're like where the fuck's God?

[00:24:21] Yeah, and they're like well that one doesn't exist might as well try a share of holes

[00:25:23] Those who deal with the law did not know me. The leaders rebelled against me.

[00:25:25] The prophets prophesied by Ba'al following worthless idols.

[00:25:30] Okay, I got a few more notes over here.

[00:25:32] So law refers to the priests and the Levites.

[00:25:35] So when they're talking about law,

[00:25:37] they're not like talking about like stop signs

[00:25:40] and speeding tickets.

[00:25:41] They're talking about the law.

[00:25:43] Levitical law, the Torah is the law is the word.

[00:25:47] Like those terms are all interchangeable. their glorious God for worthless idols. Okay. Have people ever changed their God? Yes. This one. Well, but all the other ones, they pretty much stayed with their gods and the Israelites just like they went with whatever God was local at the time. So, like the Egyptians all had Egyptian gods. You know what I mean?

[00:27:02] But it's easy to say that in a specific timeframe is far either direction, which is to say anywhere, anywhere, anywhere, everywhere, anywhere. He's like in all the world that we know between these two points. Yes. Have you ever seen such shit? Right. And it's like, yeah, that's not exactly the whole world guy.

[00:28:21] Right.

[00:28:22] Be appalled at this, you heavens and have laid waste his land. His towns are burned and deserted. Also. You say this as though, this is God, Jeremiah speaking for God or whatever the fuck's going on here.

[00:29:40] But he's saying this as though he couldn't have stopped it

[00:29:44] or he couldn't have controlled it.

[00:29:46] And there's multiple things here that are wrong panties no. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To. To.

[00:31:00] To.

[00:31:01] To.

[00:31:02] To.

[00:31:03] To.

[00:31:04] To.

[00:31:05] To.

[00:31:06] To.

[00:31:07] To.

[00:31:08] To.

[00:31:09] To. grazed your fucking skull. Got it. Okay. Which I find hilarious, regardless of how you say it. Sure. Okay. Those men, they cracked your fucking head. That's what. Right. Okay. Have you not brought this on yourselves by forsaking the Lord your God when he led you in the way? I mean, yeah, sometimes they do bring it on themselves, but I forgive them because their God is stupid.

[00:32:23] They bring it on themselves in the same way

[00:32:24] that anybody brings war upon themselves. waters you're not going to be from my waters right and when you go to a serious you're not asking for God's help you're asking for your your neighbors help yeah and you're trusting in their gods for sure okay all right that's what he's saying well I mean when you have a bad record of not helping yeah you know yeah exactly you got to reach out to who you can mm-hmm long ago you broke off

[00:33:43] your yoke and tore off your bonds say, I'm not defiled.

[00:35:01] I have not run after the balls.

[00:35:05] After the, oh, the balls?

[00:35:06] Yeah. Well, Yeah, it was a stinky trash pile of constant fire and right. It was called Gehenna. And that's where they because there was burning children and there was, you know, all that shit. So yeah, that's became the word for Hades, the underground.

[00:36:21] Yeah. And that became hell. Right. is not how you talk to your people. Right. If you ever talk to me like this, much less a God like no, this is not okay. Do not run until your feet are bare and your throat is dry. But you said, it's no use. I love foreign gods and I must go after them.

[00:37:40] I gotta do it.

[00:37:44] As a thief is disgraced when he is caught so the people of Israel are disgraced. section because I took notes on it based on what it said in the King James version, but it looks like it got corrected in the version that we're reading, which makes my notes very interesting. Okay. Sure. These people say to wood, you are my father and to stone, you gave me birth.

[00:39:01] They have turned their backs to me and not their faces, yet when they are in trouble, exists. Got it. But in our version, it says, oh no, they say to would you or my father? Okay. So they're saying it backwards. Right. And so apparently, Israel was confused about what she was worshiping when she turned to other gods. I see which is

[00:40:20] interesting. So not only did they adopt other gods, they didn't

[00:40:23] even pay real close attention to what they were doing. I mean,

[00:41:22] like we used to have a landlord that was a Baptist preacher. Yeah. Right. And her pastor, whatever they call him, I don't really know.

[00:41:25] He was a pastor. Yeah, that's right. Past. Yeah. So anyway, they, I would go so far to say,

[00:41:32] I don't think he knows the Bible that well. He cherry picks. I think he cherry picks for himself.

[00:41:40] You know, like he sees it with rose tinted glasses even accept you know what that part bothered me too And I don't have an answer for that right, but be aware of it right the fact that they're like no, it's not Right, it's not ours to know like no no no no that's not short hands right didn't read it

[00:43:00] It either I didn't read it or that was too hard. So I just decided I think God's hands right you put in God's hands

[00:44:04] Have I been a desert to Israel or land of great darkness?

[00:44:09] Both yeah, there's a great dark desert. Oh

[00:44:15] Why do my people say we're free to roam we will come to you no more I?

[00:44:22] Don't know dude. Why did they say that? Why do they feel like they want to go see other lands? Right. Yeah, I mean you know. That dude is cool. How skilled you are at pursuing love, even the worst of women can learn from your ways. The worst of women. Oh, okay. Right. On your clothes is found the lifeblood of the innocent poor, though you did not catch them breaking in.

[00:45:43] Yet in spite of this all, you say, I'm innocent.

[00:45:47] He's not angry with me.

[00:46:45] a fucking look at difference whether you worship this God or that God or no God or it doesn't it doesn't fucking matter things happen yeah you know I just don't know what else to say

[00:46:51] about it it makes me so angry that he's like if you just listen to me but then like he's

[00:46:56] like well even though you listen to me you're still gonna I mean just like there's so many

[00:47:02] just back and forth and contradictions and bullshit where I am, I am turned further and further away from this shit because it is so bad.

[00:48:22] The more we read the angrier I get to.

[00:48:25] Yeah, because there's no redeeming qualities. blah blah blah. Like I don't... I don't really care about the twisting together of the gods. I care more about whatever the messages are that they're trying to deliver, right? Right. To me, what I'm trying to discover in the Bible is more about the overarching messages that are there. Right. The idea of what God represents, I guess, is what I'm curious about.

[00:49:41] So far it does not represent good things.

[00:49:43] Nope.

[00:49:44] It sure do not.

[00:49:45] I'm sorry to go on this big old rant about it.

[00:49:47] That's fine with me.

[00:49:48] That's what we're here for. And I think God was calling Israel a prostitute and... Fucking horse. Something like that, yeah. And then... I don't know, there was some shit that happened. Oh, there wasn't the pot spilled towards the north. That wasn't one. That wasn't one? Yeah, he saw the almonds in one. Oh damn. Okay.

[00:51:00] I'm getting it mixed up.

[00:51:01] Chapter two was just like continuation of Jeremiah saying,

[00:51:04] and this is stuff God said.

[00:51:05] And God is very angry because...

[00:52:08] Alright, we are getting into Jeremiah chapter 3. We sure are.

[00:52:09] Not Isaiah.

[00:52:10] Not Isaiah.

[00:52:11] Jeremiah.

[00:52:12] The guy that was not the bullfrog.

[00:52:14] Correct.

[00:52:15] Yes.

[00:52:16] Ready?

[00:52:17] I'm ready.

[00:52:18] Hey, this is a continuation off of the last chapter, like the first five verses or so

[00:52:22] or like, oh, we forgot this was still, we were still talking.

[00:52:25] Oh, okay. People like to think they grow. I don't think they really do like I mean, you know to some extent they do but like not Not like as much as we like to think you know, you're still you're still you're still I would consider I would say I would say if anything you age You know I would consider taking you back. I'm the better person here You can't say that I yeah, we've never been divorced. So I know don't ever divorce

[00:53:44] Okay, if a man divorces his wife and she leaves him and marries another man should he return to her again

[00:54:41] Okay, I have to say something. First of all, when he says,

[00:54:44] look up at the Beren Heights,

[00:54:46] he's talking about the hills where they did all

[00:54:47] of their sacrifices and their sex things.

[00:54:49] Right, that's what I figured.

[00:54:50] And Ravished here doesn't just mean like nasty sex.

[00:54:56] Sometimes it also means rape, according to some of the things

[00:54:59] that I'm sorry.

[00:55:00] But still, I mean, he's essentially saying,

[00:55:02] look at all these places, keep it on me on,

[00:55:04] or whatever, so.

[00:55:05] That hill and that hill, that hill,

[00:55:08] that mountain over there. and people generally turn their back on whatever, is because it's not giving them what they need. Right, right. So obviously God was not giving them the water and the crops and the things that they needed. So they went elsewhere for their prayers to be heard by something else because they needed those fucking crops.

[00:56:21] Here's God, there's God everywhere's God God water.

[00:56:23] And I don't blame them.

[00:56:24] Like if you believe in God,

[00:56:27] and you think that one follow that group because you don't want to die. Right. And honestly, I'm just trying to grow my grass or whatever.

[00:57:41] Right.

[00:57:42] Like, I ain't trying to get in trouble with the law.

[00:57:45] Yeah. and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Are we talking about the northern tribes of Israel now? Because they're currently occupied. Yeah, they've been taken over by Syria, I believe. Yeah, they're done. So yeah, he's like, Israel fucked around and found out.

[00:59:01] And now Judah is doing the same goddamn thing.

[00:59:03] What the fuck?

[00:59:04] So yeah, I saw that her unfaithful sister, Judah,

[00:59:08] had no fear. cover in there the stone and the stone in the wood. Yeah, yeah, and that was something that we talked about yesterday or the day before with regard to those are basically other gods or idols or whatever, right? Yeah. So only they didn't really even even the people in Israel according to the Bible. Right. Didn't really know what or who they were worshiping to. They were just worshiping kind of willy nilly. Exactly. So that yeah, no, I know. I mean, he thought the whole world was fucking, you know, from this tent to that one over there. Right, right. Okay, finally, Judas' problem was treachery and the pretense of repentance, at least Israel, was honest in their sin. Like they were like, no, I'm sinning, look off. I'm not even gonna pretend with you.

[01:01:40] Sure.

[01:01:41] So I just, I thought that that deserved spelling out

[01:01:45] because that is such an interesting, only acknowledge your guilt. You have rebelled against the Lord, your God. You have So I guess, I don't know. I feel like he's saying there will be a time when you'll be so fucking religious, you human beings that you won't have to worry about a symbol of me to look at. You'll always be looking up instead of around at your things.

[01:04:21] Okay.

[01:04:22] You won't need that earthly representation of me because I won't be sitting in that one little tent. and fear. The Christians that are like heavily into this whole end time stuff, they were super excited because they were like, oh shit, we're all coming together under one point. Oh my god. Like, and okay, I kind of, in a large overview way of looking at it, you know, bigger picture,

[01:05:43] I'm like, okay, yeah, I get that, okay, I can see that nothing carry on. In those days, the people of Judah will join the people of Israel, and together they will come from a Northern land to the land I gave your ancestors as an inheritance. What are they gonna be doing? Oh, cause they're gonna be conquered by someone in the North, they're gonna be coming back down from there. Yeah.

[01:07:01] Okay.

[01:07:02] And that kind of, you know,

[01:07:04] I mean, trouble come from the North, that's Babylon.

[01:07:07] Babylon's being from the North.

[01:07:08] Did they? Okay, but like a woman unfaithful to her husband. So you Israel have been unfaithful to me to clear the Lord. A cry is heard on the barren heights, the weeping and pleading of the people of Israel because they have perverted their ways and have forgotten the Lord their God.

[01:08:21] Return faithless people.

[01:08:24] I will cure you of backsliding. hurts. Their sons and daughters let us lie down in our shame and let our disgrace cover us. They're saying they're saying gods, these other gods, consumed their fruits of their labor and stuff. Yeah. So again, we're giving them, they're saying they're there. They're saying those are

[01:09:42] gods. They did things. Yep. Yep. Again. again. No, they're not. This is God saying that y'all will say this. When you come back to me, you'll say all these beautiful things. My bad, my bad, my bad. And then I'll think about taking you back, you know. Well, yeah, but keep in mind, we are reading a prophecy from Jeremiah, right? So technically this is Jeremiah. Jeremiah prophesizing that this happened because God was talking to him.

[01:11:04] Yeah. I'm better with like numbers. Oh my god. Well, but also like overarching ideas like you don't always kind of catch the whole picture No, I absolutely do not. I have zero understanding that there is a whole picture Sometimes you say something and I'm like What and you're like yeah, it was And like this happened and that happened and I'm like that's not at all what happened where you pay an attention to what you read

[01:13:21] That's not what happened, baby. Right.

[01:13:21] No, no.

[01:13:22] No, no.

[01:13:23] No, no.

[01:13:23] So that was Jeremiah chapter three.

[01:13:26] Sure as fuck was.

[01:13:27] Which means that tomorrow we'll be back with.

[01:13:29] Jeremiah, chapter four.

[01:13:31] And for those of you who didn't join us on Discord tonight.

[01:13:34] Boo, hiss.

[01:13:35] You need to do it.

[01:13:36] You need to get over here and join us on Discord.

[01:13:37] It's so fun.

[01:13:38] The link's in the fucking show notes.

[01:13:39] Go down and click on it now.

[01:13:41] You won't remember later.

[01:13:42] You know you won't.

[01:13:43] Just do it now.

[01:13:44] Right?

[01:13:45] And we have so much fun.

[01:13:46] Yeah.

[01:13:47] I'm an idiot. collaboration. Our teamwork keeps getting better. Yeah, affirmations are great, but Monday.com can really get you the teamwork you desire. Work together easily in share files, updates, data, and just about anything you want all in one platform. A firm, yes, to start. Or tap the banner to go to Monday.com.

[01:15:04] Husband, wife.

[01:15:05] Do you remember what happened yesterday and where we are today?

[01:16:07] saying. Sure. Yeah, yeah, no, I mean, God didn't say shit. So right. Right. There's that. Now, before we get into what we're doing today, I do want to mention we have a new patron. What? Yep,

[01:16:13] their name is Elizabeth. Oh, Elizabeth. Yeah. Thank you so much for becoming a patron. And we

[01:16:21] just can never express it enough as to how much it means to us and how much we appreciate what you section that has continued into this one was about Israel and Judah being entreated to repent. Okay. Okay. So we're just in the middle of that conversation. Got it. So Jeremiah is quoting God and God is saying if you Israel will return, then return to me declares the Lord. Not those stone and wood idols

[01:17:42] whatever. Yeah. Don't do the tree. Yeah. Do me. Sure. Yeah. Philosophy doesn't necessarily have to have a specific point to it. Right. Like, I don't know, to say it's pointless is, has a little bit of a negative and pointless, you know, I don't like that. Right. It's a bad connotation. Okay.

[01:19:00] But just something to ponder.

[01:19:01] Right.

[01:19:02] Right.

[01:19:03] Yeah.

[01:19:04] This is what the Lord says to you people of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem,

[01:20:23] or my wrath will flare up and burn like fire because of the evil you have We're down here living you're up there. You're fine. You know, right? You're immortal. You're fine We have to deal with the ins and outs of life and that's what I'm saying the focus should be on how people are living their lives Right. It if there is a God, right? Right if there was actually a God this God should be able to know how to be a

[01:22:47] Yeah, it's not it's not even it's not logical. No, you know, no, not that a faith has to be logical But it should make some kind of sense

[01:22:49] And it's one of those things that makes you go even if there is a God even if there was a God, right?

[01:22:54] I don't like this one. No, I don't need a fucking dick and he's jealous and fuck him. Yeah. Yeah, I totally agree

[01:23:01] All right, we're starting a new section in this chapter now. Okay, and shit's about to go down. Oh, oh, okay

[01:24:08] without inhabitant. So put on sackcloth, lament and wail for the fierce anger of the Lord has not turned away from us. In that day declares the Lord, the king and the officials will lose

[01:24:15] heart, the priests will be horrified and the prophets will be appalled. I mean, they're being

[01:25:31] Mmm. Ooh, he sounds so scary instead of loving. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, this is a this is a very evil mean God. It sure is fuck is. Yeah. Look, did you? I looked at the exclamation point. Okay. Look. What to the nations, proclaim concerning Jerusalem. A besieging army is coming from a distant land, raising a war cry against the cities of God wasn't yes you know yeah it wasn't exclusive to Judah or Israel or whatever the whole fertile crescent yeah it was all over the fucking place yeah so this is has called his people like senseless children, right? Like worms, you know, like how many fucking names has he called like pieces of shit garbage like menstrual cloths because he is just he is not nice. No, and he has no give and one might say that he's abusive

[01:29:44] Because you're supposed to call your children names. Yeah, no, I because I've never done it. Sure. Okay. But I think if I'm not mistaken, it's the drug that a lot of tribal people use in ceremonies to, like I said, open your minds to the universe and stuff and people who do it are supposed to

[01:31:04] have these very spiritual experiences. It's an alternate timeline. All right, so this is what the Lord says. Ready? I'm ready. The whole land will be ruined. The why will not destroy it completely. Yeah. Therefore, the earth will mourn and the heavens above grow dark because I have spoken and will not relent. I have decided and will not turn back.

[01:32:22] Okay.

[01:32:23] Okay.

[01:32:24] Now we're back to Jeremiah.

[01:32:25] Okay.

[01:32:26] Yeah. Don't forget, they're gonna be grapes. Right, right. And from that, they'll spring back and become greater than ever, and they'll be like the sands on the beach and the stars in the sky and the almonds on the tree and whatever. Yeah, all the... Policy things. Yeah, right. So, okay. God's a dick still. Yep. That was...

[01:33:40] Or for...

[01:33:42] All right.

[01:33:43] Well, that was Jeremiah chapter four.

[01:33:45] Sure as fuck was. that we've read about so far. Yep, that tracks. Yeah, they were trying to pretend like he was all nice and shit for a while, like kind of back and forth or anything to ya. For a minute, yeah. But now they're like, no, you just kind of fuck them all up. Yep. And I'm like, yep. Hey, go getcha. That's the way that goes. He coming. Right. Before we get into what we're doing today, we do have another shout out today to do. What?

[01:35:00] Yeah, so we have a new patron.

[01:35:03] Their name is Dale L.

[01:35:05] Dale?

[01:35:05] Yeah.

[01:35:06] Thank you, Dale.

[01:35:07] Yeah, thank you so much, Dale. now we're doing Jeremiah chapter five. All right, you ready to do this? Okie dokie. Let's do it. And talk about throwing you off. Right. I threw you off. Yes. All right, let's do it. All righty then, let's get into Jeremiah chapter five.

[01:36:24] Okay.

[01:36:25] Go up and down.

[01:36:27] And down. What do you consider righteous? Again, do they have to fear you and only worship you? And it doesn't matter whether they're a good person, right? I bet there's a good person in Jerusalem. I bet you're right. I bet there's a really good fucking person. But that doesn't matter to God because God wants you to fear him and worship him only. Yeah, that's the most important part.

[01:37:40] Right, yeah.

[01:37:41] Whether or not they murder people, whether they're pedos,

[01:37:44] whether they run over kittens with their horse carts,

[01:37:47] we don't even hardly know you. That's what I was thinking like, do they remember your name?

[01:39:00] Right.

[01:39:00] That's why he's like, what's my name, bitch?

[01:39:03] I thought, these is a God not a God? I don't understand the premise of the question because you just literally said it's a God and so it's a God because you said it's a God.

[01:40:21] When is a God, you know, when is a thing that is a God not a thing that is a God?

[01:40:27] When the Bible as well. This is kind of fucking screwy man. I'm going to go ahead and wear all of my makeup and I'm going to go fuck a prostitute. Right. Byeeeee! They are well fed lusty stallions, each name for another man's wife.

[01:41:45] Should I not punish them for this? declares the Lord.

[01:42:46] No, I'm totally with you there. I'm I only hesitate because I'm not a fan of the you know

[01:42:54] Of a corporal punishment, right? So but I don't know they're like publicly murdering kids. No, I

[01:43:02] Look, I'm with you, but like also this time frame. It was very barbaric and not the whole thing is exactly weird So yeah, yeah, I don't know what to say about it even quote marks. Got it. Okay. Now I'm God. The prophets are but wind and the word is not in them. So let what they say be done to them. Got it. Right. That okay sounds sounds more correct in my head. Yeah. Me too. Me too. But therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty says because the people have spoken these

[01:44:22] words, I'll make my words in your mouth I mean, what would be the incentive to keep believing in God when they've got their shit together more? Right. Doesn't it sound like their God's better than your God? It really does. If we're going for like a comparison here, for like, you know, apples to apples, they're

[01:45:40] conquering you and you're not conquering them.

[01:45:43] So your God failed.

[01:45:44] Yeah.

[01:45:45] And if I'm sure they have a God you want to serve their gods? Fine. Now go serve their people too. Right. Right. Thanks for that though, God. Appreciate you making me slave and stuff. Right. Yeah, it's good times. Yeah. Also tsunamis, you know. That's what I'm seeing. Like you're wrong though. Yeah. You're wrong. Clearly it didn't happen in that part of the world but it happens and you just don't know the planet so you're not God or you're not a very good big one.

[01:48:26] But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts. written by people who didn't understand science, not inspired by God, not told by God, no one told you. If God was telling you this, he'd tell you the actual thing that happened. But he didn't. Right, because he would say stuff like, you know, you can't see this part of the planet right now, but one day your progeny will sail across the ocean and blah, like he would use these future terms.

[01:49:45] Right, yeah, talk about a prophecy, right? scientific understanding that is said throughout the Bible is based on just the rudimentary understandings of the people that lived at that time. In that particular exact location. Right. And it just doesn't hold any weight today. It's so childish. I'm sorry. I know I use that word but it's just so silly. Right. And I can't with this nonsense. Yeah. Yeah. Your wrongdoings have kept these away. Your

[01:51:04] sins have deprived you of good. Among my people are the wicked who lie in Should I not punish them for this? Declares the Lord. Okay, there's punishment and then there's outright murder. Yeah. Like no, no, you should not murder. Your idea of punishment is extreme, dude. Yeah, like, I don't know. There's this thing called gentle parenting. And I've been giving it a spin with the toddler that I babysit.

[01:52:20] Highly recommend.

[01:52:21] Yeah.

[01:52:22] Cause you get more positive results.

[01:52:24] Right, right.

[01:52:25] Should I not avenge myself on such a nation as this? Yeah, what will you do in the end? That sounds very, like that sounds like Jeremiah. Like this is, cause they had writer, right? Like this was that one guy that was- Jeremiah and Baruch. Yeah. Baruch was his guy. Okay. What? No, it was, I thought there was like three names. It was like Ben out- Yes, his first name was Baruch.

[01:53:41] Okay, all right.

[01:53:42] Got it. Sorry.

[01:53:43] It just throws me out cause I, yeah.

[01:53:46] Okay.

[01:53:47] But anyway, so we'll probably do a book club on Sunday And then I'll get the weekly replay out and then we'll be back on Monday with Jeremiah chapter 6. All right, we foreskin lacking penis. I didn't know this, but according to the notes that I found, he is a descendant

[01:56:20] of Rahab by her marriage with Joshua, and he was born during the Persecution of the prophets under Jezebel. Okay. Remember all that only kind of right? I know that was so far back But that's where we are today. Okay. We are so far back in time right?

[01:58:41] He was like, nope. Can you imagine me and Mary to somebody that's just proclaiming disaster all the time?

[01:58:44] No.

[01:58:45] That would be terrible.

[01:58:46] Um, aren't you married to somebody that's proclaiming disaster all the time?

[01:58:50] Isn't that me?

[01:58:51] Well, I mean, I'm like everything sucks.

[01:58:55] I hate everything.

[01:58:56] Yeah, but I don't let you get away with it.

[01:58:57] No, you don't.

[01:58:58] You don't.

[01:58:59] So I guess you can't imagine that then.

[01:59:02] So the lofty mission for which Jeremiah was destined was evident even at his birth for what the fuck I'm gonna do. Right, yeah, like we're just gonna make him a prophet and we're gonna make him seem like he's really important. Exactly, exactly. And we can do that because we got money. Uh-huh, ain't that nice. So this part came, like we read this part, right, in the Bible. Okay. He continued by accusing his mother of unfaithfulness and as the latter was greatly astonished

[02:00:22] to hear this uncomplimentary speech

[02:00:24] from her newborn infant.

[02:00:26] Yeah, I'd be a penis is missing. Interesting. Right? Yeah. The Midrash claims that Moses was born apostic. Moses? Moses. Okay. And other sources claim that Jacob, his son, Gad, and King David were also born this way. Isn't that convenient? All the leaders. All the really godly people. Yeah. Yeah. There's this book called The Fathers According to Rabbi Nathan,

[02:02:48] Right? Some traditions in Islam say that Muhammad was born without a foreskin. So again, you know, which came first the chicken or the dick. Sure. Yeah. Jewish law requires males born without

[02:02:55] a foreskin or who lost their foreskin through means other than a formal circumcision ceremony

[02:03:01] to have a drop of blood let from the penis at the point where the foreskin would have The Sabbath must not be desecrated on that account. What is it? It depends on which school of fire you're with. Well that sucks. And your rabbi will let you know. I hope they're not wrong. Well. Because you know, then you're fucked. I mean, at least you are going to be circumcised. I guess. But I mean, knowing God, he could kill you for getting circumcised on the wrong day if

[02:04:20] he felt like it.

[02:04:21] True.

[02:04:22] It's better to just be born without your foreskin.

[02:04:23] Right.

[02:04:24] But then you still got to get your, you know, dick pricked.

[02:04:27] Right. Dicks that's it we talk about dicks. That's it. Okay. All right Picking a dick and why we do it and if you can be born without your foreskin, which you can yeah So you learned something I did I learned something new today. Yeah, I did. Yeah, okay. Well, that was our Q&A for this Saturday I thought it was interesting it definitely was yeah, I mean I made you squirm who doesn't like talking about dicks

[02:05:45] Most people don't like talking about this

[02:06:42] Hey, wife, I guess that's the end. But husband, that's just sad.

[02:06:44] It doesn't have to be.

[02:06:45] We are on lots of social media platforms like Twitter.

[02:06:47] Our handle there is sacralidus underscore D.

[02:06:50] Four D's nuts.
