Get ready to dive headfirst into the heavenly hissy fit that is Jeremiah Chapter 15 in our latest no-holds-barred episode, "Jeremiah Chapter 15." Join your favorite irreverent atheist podcasters as we unpack the biblical blockbuster where even the all-star prophet lineup of Moses and Samuel can't save humanity from God's rage-quit. Forget mercy—this deity's got a four-pronged plan for a holy smackdown, and we're here to roast every moment of it.
Prepare to be entertained and possibly offended as we question the celestial logic that punishes the many for the sins of one crummy king. Think of it as the ancient precursor to modern-day autocracies, where the man in charge does the dance, and everyone else pays the piper. It's a whirlwind tour through scripture and sovereignty, where we shine a spotlight on the absurdities of holding entire nations hostage to the whims of the divine and despotic alike.
Buckle up for a rollercoaster ride through the delightful world of Old Testament judgment, and brace yourself for parallels that hit uncomfortably close to home with our modern-day musings on Russia's charismatic control freakery. We'll make you laugh, we'll make you think, and we might just make you question why anyone ever thought these tales were good moral benchmarks.
Get ready for an episode filled with snark, skepticism, and a healthy dose of reality as we break down the bizarre blend of divine decree and earthly dominion. Subscribe, rate, and prepare for blasphemy—it's going to be a divinely dictatorial ride through Jeremiah 15.

[00:00:00] Hey everyone, Husband here.
[00:00:05] And I'm Wife.
[00:00:06] If you've been listening to us, then you know we're all about reading the Bible and
[00:00:09] reacting to it on our first read through.
[00:00:12] Cuss words, crying, laughing, and more.
[00:00:14] We're passionate about creating a podcast that takes the sanctity out of the sacred
[00:00:17] text and simply stating it as we see it.
[00:00:19] But we can't do it without your help.
[00:00:21] We're asking for your support to help us keep this podcast going.
[00:00:24] There are two ways you can donate. we're reading the Bible for the very first time. We grew up without religion and wanted to know what all the fuss was about. Well, what have we learned so far? That God is a dick and apparently some people believe in talking donkeys. We're not trying to pass ourselves off as experts. Nope, we're just reading the Bible for the first time and giving our first take reaction. If you'd like to join us in this venture, you might consider starting at episode one.
[00:01:42] Otherwise, jump in wherever you like. Alright, let's go read the Bible. Yeah,
[00:01:46] let's get this. Okey dokey. Okay, so we are hopping into Jeremiah chapter 15. Okay. Ready, go.
[00:03:01] Then the Lord said to me.
[00:03:03] It says ready go?
[00:03:05] No, I said that.
[00:03:06] Oh, okay.
[00:03:07] I was like, what?
[00:03:07] I was trying to gear myself up because. Later. Yeah, and so the Israelites are aware probably at some level right that God changed his mind in the past when you know Prophets interceded. Yeah, exactly. Exactly My mind would not be favorable toward this people cast them out of my fucking sight and let them go forth He's done with them. He is like not even a little no and it shall be if they say to you
[00:04:26] Where should we go? Oh question mark? Uh-huh Wow. That's just mean. Yeah. He's a dick. I will hand them over to trouble to all the kingdoms of the earth because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah for what he did in Jerusalem. Because of a king. Yeah. Because of a king. Yeah. Not because of all the people. Not because of anything. In this paragraph, right? Yeah,
[00:05:44] no, no, no, no. But we've that the leader is not the people and that there was a person trying to fight that leader. Right, right. We have to remember that the leader is not the country.
[00:07:01] The leader is not the people.
[00:07:02] And really, even if the people are following that leader,
[00:07:06] it's- Can they be faulted for following their leader? that's not just based on greed and power. They actually have some reasons to follow a bad guy. And they might, they probably don't know better. Right. You know, I mean, they don't have an alternative. This is what they see as their best option. And this is why we don't punish civilians
[00:08:20] for what their leaders are doing.
[00:08:22] Right, right.
[00:08:23] Duh.
[00:08:24] Anyway, he's like, Man't eat this shit. I'll fuck you. I'm gonna make you die and be punished forever. Part of his fucking whole campaign is that he wants you to fear him. Yeah. Fear, fear, fear, fear, fear,
[00:09:41] fear, fear. Yeah. That is not a god of relenting.onday. I will cause anguish and terror to fall on them suddenly. She languishes who has borne seven. She has breathed her last. Her son has gone down while it was yet day. She has been ashamed and confounded.
[00:11:02] And the remnant of them I will deliver to Lord said, Surely it will be well with your remnant. Surely I will cause the enemy to intercede with you in the time of adversity and in the time of affliction. Can anyone break iron, the northern iron and the bronze? Your wealth and your treasures I will give then die again because dying once wouldn't be enough. Yeah, right. That's that's essentially God's going fucking off, right? Die hard. Yeah. And then Jeremiah chimes in and he's like, Hey, don't forget those people that like, you know, call me names. Can you kill them too? Yeah. And then he's also like, but but make sure you don't kill me though.
[00:13:40] Do not take me away. Right, right. But like did I rejoice. I sat alone because of your hand, for you have filled me with indignation. Why is my pain perpetual and my wound incurable,
[00:15:02] which is refusing to be healed?" Wait, wait, wait, wait. This guy is worship like it yeah he's very flaky yeah he's like you're probably gonna murder people so just make sure you get them but I mean could you not murder anybody that'd be great but also you probably are so but could you just make sure you don't get me right yeah like I mean he's just like all over the place I don't know what you're I don't know which way you're going God because
[00:16:21] my drugs are not allowing me to think I am with you to save you And deliver you says the Lord I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked and I will redeem you from the grip of the terrible Yeah, this guy's got his own personal fucking he's like I got you said the nuclear bomb like he doesn't like anybody but this
[00:17:42] Guy yeah, yeah, it's amazing and even this guy's like
[00:17:46] Do you though? Like if you kill the majority of your people, you are weakening yourself because these are the people that do believe in you. The other people definitely don't believe in you. If this is how you treat your followers, I can't even imagine how you treat people that don't give two shits about you, much less those who actively hate you.
[00:19:01] Oh my goodness, they would not even want to live
[00:19:05] in this world.
[00:20:03] Jeremiah chapter 16. All right. We'll see you then. Bye
[00:20:12] Hey wife, I guess that's the end
[00:20:20] It doesn't have to be we are on lots of social media platforms like Twitter our handle there is sacrilegious underscore D For these nuts. Oh my god
[00:20:23] Stop doing that. Anyway, we're also on Facebook Instagram and Pinterest
