Jeremiah Chapter 46: Atheist Bible Study

Jeremiah Chapter 46: Atheist Bible Study

Strap in for a heretical ride as we take a blasphemous bash at Jeremiah Chapter 46 in our latest podcast episode! We're not prophets, but we predict a whirlwind of irreverent insights and skeptical scrutiny. Our dynamic duo of godless gabbers will leave no stone unturned—or should we say, no scripture unscathed—in this deep dive into the so-called prophecies that, spoiler alert, didn't quite hit the historical mark.

Prepare for a heathen's take on the epic smackdown between Egypt and Babylon, where the 'omniscient' scriptural narrative stumbles over historical facts like a clumsy camel. We dissect the alleged divine foresight that seems more like a post-game commentary with a Babylonian fanboy twist. Listen as we reveal how the biblical text throws shade at Egyptian deities, reduces complex geopolitics to divine wrestling matches, and roots for the home team with a holy bias that would make even the most die-hard sports fans blush.

Join us as we unpack the hyperbolic huffing and puffing of the Pharaoh, the legendary smack talk against foreign nations, and the absurdity of using medicinal metaphors to prophesy national health. Egypt's heifer-like pride? More like a biblical barbeque where the stakes are high and the steaks are burnt to a crisp. And don't get us started on the supposed "divine deliverance" of Israel. It's a tale of salvation that comes with more buts than a cigarette factory.

And, because no episode is complete without a good ol' fashioned biblical roasting, we've got your fix of divine critique. How can a book so riddled with historical hiccups be the ultimate guide to morality and existence? If you're ready to question everything you thought you knew about ancient prophecies and enjoy some godless giggles along the way, this is the episode for you.

Don't forget to bring your sense of sacrilege and your love for logical lapses, because we're tearing through the chapters with the ferocity of a Babylonian soldier on a bad day. Tune in, turn up the volume, and let's get apostate with it!

Disclaimer: No actual heifers were harmed in the making of this podcast, but a few holy cows definitely got tipped.

[00:01:16] Welcome to sacrilegious discourse. I'm husband and I'm wife. Together we're reading the

[00:01:20] Bible for the very first time. We grew up without religion and wanted to know what all the fuss was

[00:01:25] about. Well, what do we learn so far? That God is a dick and apparently some people believe in

[00:01:31] talking donkeys. We're not trying to pass ourselves off as experts. Nope, we're just reading the

[00:01:35] Bible for the first time and giving our first take reaction. If you'd like to join us in this venture

[00:01:40] you might consider starting at episode one. Otherwise jump in wherever you like. All right let's go

[00:01:45] read the Bible. Yeah, let's get to it. Husband, wife, do you remember what happened on Friday?

[00:01:55] Well we got done with Jeremiah chapter 45 which was the chapter right after the narrative that

[00:02:03] was being told and it was like the last time that Jeremiah was going to be doing his you know

[00:02:09] addressing the nations and all that kind of stuff so it was we were hearing from Baruch

[00:02:13] and Baruch was like we were like back like 20 years and Baruch was recalling I don't really know

[00:02:23] honestly. Like I do remember that he was feeling sorry for himself because he didn't get to be a

[00:02:30] prophet because reputation was dashed yeah and then he included this in the narrative for some reason

[00:02:38] that Jeremiah told him that God had a special message for him that was basically like just be

[00:02:43] glad you live. I feel like he was trying to make himself a prophet. Yeah and also then like he

[00:02:49] was apparently too important to be in the city when God destroyed it. According to legends.

[00:02:54] Yeah so then he walked outside of the city, took some acid and watched some angels destroy it.

[00:02:59] That's what I said anyway. Yeah, he's also considered a prophet by some and he's also considered a

[00:03:06] saint by some and he may have got translated up to paradise in a fucking coach. Yeah yeah so I don't

[00:03:16] know what's up with Baruch but Baruch's got some shit going on and anyway that was that was Jeremiah

[00:03:21] chapter 45 and I'm kind of actually curious what's gonna happen today which would be Jeremiah chapter 46.

[00:03:30] Alright let's do this. Okie dokie.

[00:05:26] couple things to say. Okay. First of all apologies to those who are keeping track with their bingo

[00:05:33] boards. I did not drop any f-bombs in the opening. Oh man. That's rare. So yeah no wild card for you

[00:05:40] or whatever. If you have no idea what I'm talking about is because you're not in our discord on

[00:05:46] Tuesdays, which you should be. Right. So yeah, I mean you should go over there and hop over

[00:05:51] on our discord, which there's a link in the show notes right now because today if you're listening

[00:05:57] on the day, it's Monday which means that our live will be tomorrow. Yeah. At 10 Eastern. Yeah.

[00:06:03] And we have so much fun. Right. And you can play bingo and there's all kinds of ways to

[00:06:09] track my f-cups and errors and cats and stuff like that. Right. Okay. So that's that. The other

[00:06:18] thing is I have some notes about this chapter that actually are kind of important that I read

[00:06:24] before we jump into it. Okay. Okay. So first of all, this chapter is part of a series what?

[00:06:30] We're entering a series but this is not a narrative. This is oracles against foreign nations

[00:06:38] and it consists of chapters 46 to 51. Open? What? Open. Yeah. Oracles against foreign nations. Oh.

[00:06:48] I'm like the fucking talking about. Yes, that would be correct. That is an acronym.

[00:06:52] That is how that works. Now in the septuogen, these chapters, oh it's chapters 46 to 51. And in

[00:07:00] the septuogen, these chapters come in the middle of what we call Jeremiah chapter 25, but which is

[00:07:09] chapter 32 and the septuogen. Okay. My mouth wanted to say superintendant. Got it. Got it. Yeah.

[00:07:17] That is not correct. That is not correct. So the fact that these oracles are kind of together.

[00:07:23] Yeah. Suggest that they circulated for a time as an independent unit. Okay. So they were like

[00:07:30] their own separate thing that different people put in different places depending on who was

[00:07:35] translating and why. Got it. Okay. Yeah. And this series, basically the rest of this book is these

[00:07:42] chapters. They bring together a number of the messages that the prophet announced to foreign

[00:07:49] nations over the course of time during the many years of his ministry. Okay. That's not confusing

[00:07:57] at all. Right. So we're going to be bouncing even more wildly around than talking about more

[00:08:01] different time frames. And it gets worse. Yeah. It gets worse. Ready? Great. Furthermore,

[00:08:08] the order in which the messages have been arranged does not follow the order of the events

[00:08:14] that they announced. Oh awesome. They're not chronological. Yeah, they're yeah. Great. The arrangement

[00:08:19] is more according to the geographic location of the target countries. So each chapter is basically

[00:08:26] going to be Jeremiah yelling at a different nation. Okay. And the arrangement like I said is geographic

[00:08:34] and it starts with Egypt in the south. And then it moves north and east towards Mesopotamia,

[00:08:41] middle of the city. And it hits a bunch of locations all in between. I kind of dislike strongly

[00:08:48] whoever put together the book of Jeremiah. I do too. I am not I'm not a fan of that person. Yeah,

[00:08:54] chronological is always best bitches. Yeah. And I mean there's some thoughts that it was

[00:08:59] a book but I don't believe that either. There we go. There's a chance that he might have died

[00:09:03] with Jeremiah. So like there I mean, whatever. There's been plenty of chances to fix it since his time

[00:09:08] at the very least. So I think that's going to be like my life goal is like me stapling like I'm just

[00:09:15] going to get a Bible and I'm going to tear all the pages out and I'm going to rest this is how I

[00:09:20] should actually go. Yeah. Yeah. Like this is chronological. Right. Yeah. And I will be the

[00:09:26] decider of what goes and what stays will have our own if I got some apocrypha, pygrifa, what the

[00:09:33] fuck ever? The you know non-canon Bible. We'll have our council of sacrilege. Yes. Yes. Yeah.

[00:09:39] I'll include all that stuff. So the climax of this series deals with the nation that dominated

[00:09:46] the affairs of most countries in the region which was Babylon. Yeah. Yeah. You've got it. Okay.

[00:09:52] So now we're going to jump in. Okay. Okay. So but we're starting with Egypt. Egypt. Got it.

[00:09:58] The word of the Lord which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the nations and that is basically

[00:10:05] an intro for this entire section, not just this chapter. I bet these messages sound very similar.

[00:10:11] They probably do for each of the fucking nation. They probably do. Just to guess I'm just going

[00:10:15] to say that up front, but based on what I've heard so far in Jeremiah, that's probably how it's

[00:10:19] going to go. I'm going to guess that you're right, but it will be fun listening to him talk shit

[00:10:24] against different geographies. Sure. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Dude. Whatever. Okay. Concerning the army of

[00:10:34] Pharaoh Niko, king of Egypt which was by the river Euphrates in Karshamesh and which

[00:10:41] Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon defeated in the fourth year of Joziah, king of Judah. Okay.

[00:10:50] Okay. Now this is a quote. This is Jeremiah delivering a prophecy. Egypt you are going to be so

[00:10:58] fucked. Yeah. And so he is like, this is what he sees. Okay. Okay. Order the buckler and shield

[00:11:05] and draw him near to the battle. Harness the horses and mount up you horsemen. Scan forth with your

[00:11:10] helmets. Polish the spears put on the armor. Why have I seen them dismayed and turn back? Their

[00:11:17] mighty ones are beaten down. They have speedily fled. Look at them Egyptians run. Yeah. And did not

[00:11:23] look back for fear was all around says the Lord, you know, to me. Yeah. Sure. Do not let the swift

[00:11:32] flee away nor the mighty man escape. They will stumble and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.

[00:11:39] Who is this coming up like a flood? Whose waters move like the rivers Egypt rises up like a flood

[00:11:46] and its waters move like the rivers. And he says I will go up and cover the earth. I will destroy

[00:11:52] the city and its inhabitants. Come up, bow horses and rage, O chariots and let the mighty men come forth

[00:12:01] the Ethiopians and the Libyans who handle the shield and the Lydians who handle and bend the bow

[00:12:08] the Libyans and the Lydians. There are mercenaries that were and the Ethiopians, they were all

[00:12:16] mercenaries that were Egypt. Yeah. So this is all directed at Egypt and their slaves and

[00:12:22] their warriors and their mercenaries like the whole army of mixed mash got it. Yeah.

[00:12:28] For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts the day of vengeance that he may avenge himself on his

[00:12:34] adversaries. The sword shall deliver. It shall be satiated and may drunk with their blood

[00:12:42] for the Lord God of hosts has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

[00:12:48] Go up to Gilead and take bomb of virgin, the daughter of Egypt in vain. You will use many

[00:12:55] medicines. You shall not be cured. Okay. Let me jump into some notes before we get too much further.

[00:13:02] I'm assuming he's going to kill Egypt. Yeah. Well, like that is hypothetically like

[00:13:10] in Canaan. Okay. Jeremiah is being told by God this is what's going to happen. So he's giving

[00:13:17] this prophecy. God is showing me this moment in time when oh shit look at all those Egyptians

[00:13:25] and all their guys. Oh they are running in fear. Oh my god. Oh this movie is great. Oh look at

[00:13:31] them. Yeah. Okay. So that's what's happening. Still sounding like a Babylonian agent though.

[00:13:35] Mm-hmm. Just saying. Yeah. Okay. Also why would God care about the Babylonians and the Egyptians?

[00:13:41] He wouldn't because he doesn't even hardly care about his own people. He wouldn't. Okay. All right.

[00:13:46] So it was on his way to Karshamish. I'm giving you notes now. Sure. It was on his way to Karshamish

[00:13:53] located in modern Turkey near the Syrian border. Okay. That Pharaoh Niko had slain King Josiah of

[00:14:01] Judah back in 609 BCE when Josiah tried to turn him back. Okay. So that's what this is supposed

[00:14:09] to have taken place before then. Okay. Sure. Pharaoh kept his army and Karshamish for four years

[00:14:16] dominating the area and waiting for the inevitable confrontation with rising Babylon. When it came

[00:14:23] the Egyptians were rooted in 605 BCE. The army of never could oh is it not rooted? No it's

[00:14:30] routed. Is it routed? Yeah. Okay. They were routed not rooted. My bad. Another one of those words

[00:14:36] I never hear out loud. Okay. I really thought was rooted. No it's routed. Okay. They were routed.

[00:14:43] They were they were stopped at any rate. In 605 BCE the army of Nebuchadnezzar

[00:14:51] defeated the troops of Pharaoh Niko at Karshamish on the northern Euphrates and pursued the troop

[00:14:58] to the border of Egypt. The Babylonian armies chased the fleeing Egyptians south Egyptians south

[00:15:05] and came to Jerusalem. Okay. So moving on when it says the association of the bomb when he says

[00:15:15] the bomb of Egypt or whatever. The bomb of Gilead. Right. The association of bomb with Gilead is

[00:15:21] likely an allusion to the fact that caravans from the east bearing supplies of bomb often passed

[00:15:28] through Gilead. Okay. So they were like sell your medicines elsewhere because they ain't going

[00:15:34] work here. Got it. They all gone die and nothing can help you. Got it. Got it. Yeah. So the defeat

[00:15:40] of Egypt at Karshamish was famous because it marked the beginning of Babylon as a true superpower

[00:15:46] in the region and the decline of Egypt. So that was the moment. Okay. Yeah. The specific moment that

[00:15:52] like the tides of wind completely changed. But just to put it back out there for the record.

[00:15:58] God said that Babylon was going to destroy annihilate all the all the Israelites in Egypt

[00:16:07] and by destroying Egypt. And he never made it past the front door. So yeah. I'm just saying. Yep.

[00:16:14] No, totally agree. I don't know. I don't know. These prophecies, these quote unquote prophecies,

[00:16:19] they're there only as right as they are convenient. Right. Yes. You know like we can we can point out

[00:16:26] in these books where prophecies are not correct. But people are going to be like, well, but it was

[00:16:31] correct here. Like yeah, but that's in your book. And yes, okay, in history that happened. But

[00:16:36] we don't even know when that was fucking written. Yeah. Sorry, I just I'm so annoyed with

[00:16:40] quote unquote prophecies. Oh yeah, totally. I agree. So okay. So he's saying in vain you will use

[00:16:47] many medicines, but you shall not be cured. Okay. The nations have heard of your shame and your

[00:16:54] cry has filled the land for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty. They both have fallen

[00:17:02] together. Okay. Yeah, those two giants over there happens in war you fight each other and

[00:17:07] people fall and die and those two giants over there duked it out and sometimes one giant one and

[00:17:11] sometimes the other giant one right. And that sucks for all the little people getting sure to

[00:17:15] their mouth still does to this day right? To this day to this day. The word that the Lord spoke to

[00:17:23] Jeremiah the prophet how Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon would come and strike the land of Egypt. Okay,

[00:17:29] so now we're like for the first part was about it was a prophecy about the defeat at Karsha

[00:17:38] Masha. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Right. So now we're reading a second prophecy which is the invasion of Egypt.

[00:17:45] Okay. So this is closer to like after the Babylonian exile is already underway and stuff, right?

[00:17:51] I'm assuming. I would think so. I mean sure. Okay. Sounds right. Yeah. You should never

[00:17:58] ask me about time periods and years because I'm wrong. So I've stopped. Yeah, I decided I'm no

[00:18:04] longer going to say yes, that is absolutely correct. Got it. Got it. Okay. Okay. Your cry is filled

[00:18:10] the lands the mighty man. Yeah. All you giants stumbling you both fallen together. The word that

[00:18:15] the Lord spoke to Jeremiah the prophet how Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon would come and strike the land

[00:18:22] of Egypt. Okay. Yeah. Declare in Egypt, this is God talking to Jeremiah who was speaking. Yeah.

[00:18:30] Declare in Egypt and proclaim in MIGDOL proclaim in Noth and in Tupines say stand fast and prepare

[00:18:39] yourselves for the sword devours all around you. Why are your valiant men swept away? Did they

[00:18:46] did not stand because the Lord drove them away? Hmm. He made many fall. Yes, one fell upon another

[00:18:54] and they said arise. Let us go back to our own people and to the land of our nativity from the

[00:18:59] oppressing sword. They cried there. Pharaoh King of Egypt is but a noise. He has passed by the

[00:19:06] appointed time. So I have some notes. Okay. Other than Jeremiah really doesn't like Egypt and the

[00:19:12] Pharaohs. Right. Okay. Yeah. You know, because he's a double agent for Babylon. Yeah. Yeah. No, I

[00:19:18] mean like this is just keeps reinforcing. He's all like fucking Egypt. Right? Yeah. So they called

[00:19:25] Pharaoh a noise and what that actually was referring to was a braggart, a bombast, a loud mouth,

[00:19:33] a person who's all talk someone who's full of lip service. That kind of thing. Okay. A blow hard.

[00:19:39] Yeah. Okay. So another thing is Egypt proudly thought of her. Oh, wait, no, I'm not there yet.

[00:19:46] Never mind. So I'll get there in a second. Okay. Yep. So okay. They're like, he's just a noise

[00:19:53] that King of Egypt guy. Right? Right. As I live says the king whose name is the Lord of hosts

[00:20:00] surely as taboor is among the mountains and as Carmel by the sea. So he shall come. Yeah, he will.

[00:20:07] Oh, you daughter dwelling in Egypt. He's talking to the Israelites there. Yeah. Yeah. Prepare yourself

[00:20:13] to go into captivity for Noth shall be waste and desolate without inhabitants. So he's these are

[00:20:20] cities. He's naming off that he's like, y'all gonna get it? This city, this city, this city. Here

[00:20:25] we come into Egypt. I mean, I mean, I mean here Babylon comes not me. I'm just Jeremiah. Right.

[00:20:32] I was talking about them, not us. It's just that like the the the rhetoric towards Babylon who is

[00:20:39] conquering you know Israel. Yeah. It's very friendly coming from this book. Yeah. That's the part

[00:20:46] that just it just always strikes me like they're like his tool, his weapon, his you know like

[00:20:51] the servant. Yeah. I'm like, this guy they really Jeremiah really loves this guy. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:20:58] Yeah. Thanks. Well of them or at the very least he really hates Egypt. Or he's like Trump is with

[00:21:05] Putin and Babylon had something on him. Right. Right. Yeah. There's that possibility. And so he's

[00:21:11] like, I totally love them. I mean Babylon, you know, isn't it good to be friends with your enemies?

[00:21:17] Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Egypt is a very pretty heifer but destruction comes. It comes from the north.

[00:21:25] Also, her mercenaries are in her midst like fat bulls for they also are turned back. They have

[00:21:33] fled away together. Okay. Let's talk about that for a minute. Okay. Yeah. So Egypt proudly thought

[00:21:38] of herself as strong, great and beautiful. And God said that they were strong and pretty like a young

[00:21:44] cow a heifer but really they were just right for sacrifice like a cow is. Oh, I so they're like,

[00:21:51] I'm great. And he's like, yeah, you are a great steak. Right. Yeah. So there's that. Okay.

[00:22:00] Okay. Yeah. They have fled away together. They did not stand for the day of their calamity had come

[00:22:05] upon them the time of their punishment. Her noise shall go like a serpent for they shall march with an

[00:22:13] army and come against her with axes like those who chop wood. Okay. I gotta say something else now.

[00:22:20] Okay. The reference to Egypt the way it is in other translations like here, ours says she heard

[00:22:31] noise shall go like a serpent. Yeah. But in other translations, it says gliding away like a snake.

[00:22:38] Okay. And that either way well I think gliding away like a snake is worse and would have had more

[00:22:44] weight. Okay. It's a sarcastic comment on the humbling of thoth which was one of Egypt's most

[00:22:53] revered national deities. Okay. And one which was prominent in the royal insignia. And just to put

[00:23:00] that into frame of reference, the Egyptian God thought was equivalent to the Greek hermys or the

[00:23:06] Roman Mercury got it. So this was a low blow directed at one of their gods essentially. Yes, like

[00:23:13] there go your snake. There go your snake God. Yeah. Like if you if you recall seeing that Egyptian

[00:23:21] God guy with like the head of the eagle or something like that, like you know what I'm talking about?

[00:23:28] I am sure if I saw it, I would recognize it. Well he's got a stick that's got the caducia snakes

[00:23:34] wrapped around it. Okay. So that's who thoth is. Got it. So whatever. I don't know how to pronounce

[00:23:40] things. Sorry, I'm not a scholar or an academic. Okay. So yeah, they turned back, flew it away to

[00:23:49] go. Oh, shall go like a serpent for they shall march within our mean. Yeah, here come their acts

[00:23:53] as chop wood. Yeah. Right. Here we are. They shall cut down her forest says the Lord though it cannot

[00:23:59] be searched because they are innumerable and more numerous than grasshoppers. Oh, wow. Damn.

[00:24:06] The daughter of Egypt shall be ashamed. She shall be delivered into the hand of the people of

[00:24:12] the north as Babylon, they're talking about. Right. Yeah. The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel says,

[00:24:17] behold, I will bring punishment on a man of no and Pharaoh and Egypt with their gods and their kings

[00:24:27] Pharaoh and those who trust in him. And I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their

[00:24:32] lives into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon and the hand of his servants afterward.

[00:24:40] It's funny though I have to stop you here for just a second because the Pharaoh that they invaded

[00:24:46] ended up like running away and using Babylon to come back and fight them. And they got stopped

[00:24:53] by the new Pharaoh who was actually not bad and reigned for like 50 years. Yeah. Not bad in so

[00:24:59] far as military. It just depends on which century you're talking about. Right, but I'm assuming based

[00:25:05] on what I'm hearing that is probably the as Babylon was taking over Jerusalem and all this other

[00:25:12] shows. They're like, whoa, Babylon's kicking ass. That'll surely never change forever. Right.

[00:25:16] Babylon will always win in its like my understanding based on the history thing that we brought up

[00:25:21] in the I figured which chapter it was. We talked about it, but that there was like an ongoing war

[00:25:25] for like five or six maybe even seven years or something like that where Nebuchadnezzar was trying to

[00:25:31] invade Egypt, but never actually succeeded. Yeah, exactly. So it's funny to me that this stuff is

[00:25:40] in the Bible as though it was prophecy that came true instead of as like that didn't actually

[00:25:48] really happen that way. Right. Maybe some of it kind of happened, but they promised complete 100%

[00:25:55] and right. That's not how that went. Yeah. I mean, I'm sure some border towns got taken over or

[00:26:01] were you know, we're in them, you know, questionable as far as people die. Yeah, right. Yeah.

[00:26:06] Exactly. Yeah. But Egypt did not get run over by Babylon. No, not completely anyway. Never.

[00:26:12] Afterward, it shall be inhabited as in the days of old says the Lord. Yeah, that didn't happen.

[00:26:18] Right. But do not fear. Oh my oh my servant Jacob and do not be dismayed. Oh, Israel.

[00:26:24] Here he comes saying, you know, but I still love you. It appears the redeeming thing. Yeah.

[00:26:28] I'm going to say yeah, I'm going to stab you 100 times and and but then I'm going to give you a

[00:26:33] bandaid right. And say I love you. Yeah. Yeah. For behold, I will save you from afar.

[00:26:40] And you're offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return, have rest,

[00:26:46] and be at ease. No one shall make him afraid. Okay. Do not fear. Oh, Jacob, my servant says the Lord

[00:26:55] for I am with you. For I will make a complete end of all the nations to which I have driven you.

[00:27:02] But I will not make a complete end of you except for sometimes but no, I won't but I will but I won't.

[00:27:07] Yeah. I'm going to kill all of you except some of you but all of you.

[00:27:11] Let's just checking checking the map here. Yep. Yep. Egypt is still there. Right? Yeah.

[00:27:16] Actually, yeah, they're still there and they have some important shit to say. Right. Yeah.

[00:27:22] I don't think there was ever a complete end to Egypt. Yeah. I will rightly correct you says God.

[00:27:28] For I will not leave you wholly unpunished. Okay. The end. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. You like whatever,

[00:27:38] dude? No, it's just I look I feel like Jeremiah is not a reliable source or or narrator here.

[00:27:46] Yeah. Kind of like, dude, say less. Yeah. And so I'm kind of over Jeremiah. Yeah. And I'm over the

[00:27:55] the false information that's being portrayed here in the Bible because yeah. Like it's literally

[00:28:01] telling us things as a prophecy that didn't at least fully happen. Right? Right? Yeah.

[00:28:08] This is this is this you remember back when we were when they were taking over Israel, right? And

[00:28:13] they were they were they killed all the Canaanites and all the Amonites and they all of them were gone.

[00:28:18] Yeah. We're 100% and then they just kept popping up like here there and everywhere. Yeah.

[00:28:23] And then like, well, we didn't meet everybody. You know, come on, come on. Come on. Nobody could kill

[00:28:30] everything. It's like, no, but you're God and you said you did and you're not very trustworthy if

[00:28:35] you say you did. And then later you're like, but I didn't. But it's just these themes where he says

[00:28:42] these these finalities right where things are going to definitely happen this way and things

[00:28:47] are going to you know, these people are all going to be gone or whatever. Right? And they just

[00:28:52] don't happen. But then an apologist would say you're taking the wrong message and

[00:28:57] you're you're being too hyperbolic and not understanding blah blah blah. And I'm like, oh,

[00:29:03] so then I'm not supposed to trust the Bible and and say that it's 100% true. And they're like,

[00:29:09] no, no, no, no, it is though. And then they're like, but it's not. They're like, well, not that part

[00:29:13] and then you're like, which other parts in there? Like only the ones I say if people actually

[00:29:17] studied this they're on the apologist are really shaky ground. Right? I mean, there's a lot of

[00:29:22] stuff actually wrong in the Bible. Yeah. And yes, you can twist words to make it sound like it's

[00:29:27] correct or this is correct or that's correct. If you put things in the context that you want them in.

[00:29:33] But if you're to read it and just examine it as it is, you're going to find a lot of fallacy.

[00:29:39] And the problem is that the only proof that these people have of God is this fucking book.

[00:29:45] Right. And that's the problem right there. This does not you can't use a 2000 year old book

[00:29:52] where people wrote about what they believe in God as the proof for God. Right. That doesn't work.

[00:29:57] Yeah, no, I totally agree. And that's that's the I mean, that's the problem I have right now. Like

[00:30:03] we're using this to influence politics and law and social mores. And like there's just like so much

[00:30:13] that this this information is relevant to because of what we now and currently are using this for.

[00:30:22] Yeah, so yeah, right? I'm just going off a little bit but it's fine. It's fair.

[00:30:28] All right. Well do you got anything else for us? That's pretty much it.

[00:30:32] All right. Well that was Jeremiah chapter 46. Sure.

[00:30:35] Fuck was which means that we'll be back tomorrow with Jeremiah chapter 47 in our live discord.

[00:30:43] Uh, is it? Do we yeah? Yeah. Yes. Yes. Yes it is. Yes it is. Yes.

[00:30:50] No, it's not. No, it's not. No, it's not. No, it's not. No, because tomorrow is Monday

[00:30:56] and we record Tuesday's episodes tomorrow. Yeah. And we always do this. Tell it. Yeah.

[00:31:07] no, every once in a great while wife's right. So I'll just go for it until I think this through.

[00:31:13] I'm never right. I'm 100% wrong. Yeah, I should assume that right off the bat.

[00:31:17] You always should assume that. Yeah. Yeah. You've been married to me long enough. Right. Yeah.

[00:31:21] And we've been doing this podcast long enough that I should know better. But yeah, everybody out there
