Welcome back, heathens and skeptics, to another blasphemous breakdown of the Bible, where this week, we're sinking our heretical teeth into the juicy chaos of Jeremiah Chapter 51. Fasten your atheist seatbelts because we're cruising through a chapter that makes Game of Thrones look like child's play, with God pulling a full-on mafia boss move on Babylon.
If you thought divine retribution was all about ethereal justice, think again. In this episode, we expose the Almighty's thirst for vengeance that would make even the pettiest of exes blush. We're talking full-scale celestial smackdowns, with our omnipotent overlord laying the smack on Babylon like a divine Don Corleone.
As we traverse through this scripture slaughterhouse, we question the moral fabric of a God who seems to get his divine robes in a twist over Babylon. Spoiler alert: this deity's vengeance plan involves more flip-flopping than a politician in election season. One minute, he's using Babylon as his personal wrecking ball; the next, he's ready to tear them a new one. Talk about mixed signals!
But wait, there's more! This chapter's not just a fire-and-brimstone fest—it's a prophecy palooza. We delve into the paradoxical prophecies that have end-times enthusiasts more excited than conspiracy theorists at a UFO convention. Are we living in the last days, or is this just ancient fear-mongering repackaged for modern doomsayers?
We're dishing out all the irreverent insights and laugh-out-loud commentary you've come to expect, with enough snark to make Satan himself crack a smile. It's a rollercoaster ride through the hellscape of biblical horror, complete with psychedelic cicada zombies, because why not?
So if you're ready to have your faith in ancient texts tested or just need a good laugh at the absurdity of it all, join us for "Jeremiah Chapter 51: When Gods Get Petty." And remember, it's all fun and games until someone gets smote—then it's just another Tuesday on our podcast.

[00:01:16] Welcome to Sacrilegious Discourse. I'm husband and I'm wife. Together we're reading the Bible
[00:01:20] for the very first time. We grew up without religion and wanted to know what all the fuss was about.
[00:01:26] Well, what have we learned so far? That God is a dick and apparently some people believe in talking
[00:01:31] donkeys. We're not trying to pass ourselves off as experts. Nope, we're just reading the Bible
[00:01:36] for the first time and giving our first take reaction. If you'd like to join us in this
[00:01:40] venture you might consider starting that episode one. Otherwise jump in wherever you like. All
[00:01:44] right, let's go read the Bible. Yeah, let's get to it.
[00:01:50] Husband. Wife. Do you remember what happened on Friday and where the hell we are today?
[00:01:55] Well, on Friday we covered Jeremiah chapter 50. We sure as fuck did. And in that chapter,
[00:02:03] God was going on and on and on about how Babylon sucks and he's going to,
[00:02:07] you know, demise them, fuck them up, kill them, murder them, you know, all the bad shit
[00:02:13] that God does to everybody all the fucking time. And we were questioning like, hey, God,
[00:02:20] you know, like you were using these fuckers as a tool and so why all the vengeance and why all the
[00:02:27] mean shit? We knew it was coming and it's even so it's still like really though. Yeah, it's just
[00:02:33] the way God uses people and then like abuses them after the fact is really just complete
[00:02:41] nut or bullshit. It really is like he's all happy to use Babylon as a tool, as a weapon,
[00:02:46] as a whatever to serve his purpose, right? And obviously because we're talking into the
[00:02:54] canon and we're talking in the Bible, he is controlling or at least influencing these
[00:03:00] people to do his bidding, right? Or allowing them to and encouraging them. Sure, sure.
[00:03:05] Whatever the case may be, he is utilizing them as a tool, quote unquote. His own words. Yeah. So
[00:03:14] I don't understand the need for all the vengeance at the end of it, right? Doesn't really make a
[00:03:19] whole lot of sense. It feels like he could just as easily make them a tool to go scatter
[00:03:25] themselves to the winds, right? You know, like, I mean, you're God, you have all the power,
[00:03:30] you can do whatever the fuck you want. Apparently, apparently you like killing people. Yeah,
[00:03:36] that's the one that's what I take from it. That's what I gather seems to have been the case through
[00:03:40] the whole Bible though. It really does. And that's one of those things that just constantly
[00:03:45] disturbs me about this God, about this Bible, about these words that he uses. So
[00:03:52] anyway, that was Jeremiah chapter 50. Shersfuck was which means that today we're getting into
[00:03:59] Jeremiah chapter 51. And I think you have some little aside here as to where we are in the Bible
[00:04:07] like an apology, maybe an apology, but at least a clarification. Okay, clarification and apology.
[00:04:14] For some reason, I thought that 51 was the final chapter of Jeremiah, but it turns out that
[00:04:20] there are 52 chapters, 52, 52, like a deck of cards. Right, right. So tomorrow, Tuesday,
[00:04:29] we will be doing Jeremiah chapter 52. And then doing all the special Q&A and then our
[00:04:36] Jeremiah ramp up and then our you're always wrong, which actually makes our week work
[00:04:42] perfect because it gets us to Friday with everything that we need to do this week. So
[00:04:46] and I think we're going to be doing this one in the same vein that we've been doing
[00:04:49] the rest of them last week. And just reading it without previously notes because we're going
[00:04:54] to these are long chapters, they're really involved with like all this country, vengeance,
[00:05:01] bullshit. So we're going to read through and then we'll get to the notes on let's see that
[00:05:05] Wednesday. Yeah. So all right, so we're heading into Jeremiah chapter 50.
[00:05:11] 51. 51. 51. Sorry. That was my bad. And yeah, you ready to do this? Yes. All right, let's do this.

[00:07:05] All right, Jeremiah chapter 51. Okay. Thus says the Lord does he now. Okay. Behold.
[00:07:13] Okay. I'm beholden. I will raise up against Babylon. We're still on Babylon? Yes. Oh my
[00:07:20] against those who dwell in leb Kami a destroying wind and more over. Yeah. Okay. I will send
[00:07:30] winnowers to Babylon who shall winnow her an empty her land. Winnow. Winnowers? If you winnow
[00:07:37] something down, you take it little by little. Okay. Okay. Until it's nothing. It's just
[00:07:41] a weird way to use that word like winnowers. Like, yeah. Okay. I would call them more like
[00:07:48] killers, murderers. Yeah. But maybe or even like, you know, what is
[00:07:53] slavers, right? Like they just come in and like steal your goods and show that. I don't know.
[00:07:56] Yeah. But it's a weird way to use that word. I totally agree. I totally agree.
[00:08:00] For in the day of doom, they shall be against all her. Oh, I read that wrong. They shall be
[00:08:06] against her all around. Okay. Okay. Against her, let the archer bend his bow
[00:08:13] and lift himself up against her in his armor. Do not spare her young men. Utterly destroy
[00:08:22] all her army. That's the loving God we know and love.
[00:08:27] Thus, the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaudians and those thrust through in her streets.
[00:08:34] Jesus. I love me some violent. I mean, don't you love thrusting?
[00:08:40] Not, no. Not like this. No. Oh, no. For Israel is not forsaken, nor Judah by his God the Lord of hosts,
[00:08:51] though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel. Okay. Yeah. Israel and Judah,
[00:08:58] he still loves them even though they fucked up royally. Of all the asshole humans on the
[00:09:04] planet. They're the best ones. They're the best. Yeah. Flea from the midst of Babylon and everyone
[00:09:11] save his life. Do not be cut off in her iniquity for this is the time of the Lord's vengeance.
[00:09:18] I still struggle with this idea that you can flee God's vengeance, right? Like you are
[00:09:26] wrong and bad because you're a Babylonian in his eyes, right? And yet if you flee,
[00:09:32] you can save yourself because why? You're still a Babylonian. Like, why do you get to flee and
[00:09:39] save yourself? Honestly, why are you giving them a heads up that you're coming? Right. There's that
[00:09:44] too. Like I'm giving you a heads up. Go ahead and flee if you want. Yeah. I'm coming to kill you.
[00:09:48] Yeah. Still in the next chapter. Yeah. He shall recompense her. And let's talk about
[00:09:55] the Lord's vengeance. I'm still never going to be okay with he's vengeful. Right. Like,
[00:10:01] that is a negative. That's a naughty word that we try not to be vengeful, right? That's ugly behavior.
[00:10:09] Right. I would think that most quote unquote good Christians would say that that's not a good
[00:10:14] trait. That's what I would think. That based on my naive understanding of what Christianity was
[00:10:22] prior to reading this podcast, you know, like, but what Christians claim is love and,
[00:10:28] you know, forgiveness and all these things. Right. So my idea of what a Christian quote unquote
[00:10:35] a Christian would be would be not for vengeance. It would be the exact opposite. Yeah. So it really
[00:10:42] strikes me as counter to the whole idea of Christianity, what God stands for through
[00:10:47] most of the Old Testament. Yeah. It's really just weird. It's very weird. And I don't love
[00:10:52] it. No. No, Babylon was a golden cup in the Lord's hand that made all the earth drunk.
[00:11:02] That's great poetry though. Yeah. That's great imagery. Right. The nations drink her wine.
[00:11:08] Therefore the nations are deranged. Okay. That's interesting. Yeah. Like,
[00:11:17] she influenced everybody else. They enjoyed her goods. Right. And so,
[00:11:23] well they seemed as far as conquerors go back in those days, they seemed pretty forgiving with
[00:11:28] regard to like if you let them conquer you, they let you live and they let you carry on.
[00:11:34] Yeah. For the most part. Just call us your boss and give us our tithes and tacks. Right.
[00:11:39] And you're good to go. Yeah. We just want this place and we want to call it ours.
[00:11:43] Yeah. We just want to put our flag on it. Yeah. That's fine. Right. They weren't like the old
[00:11:48] Israelites who literally destroyed people in totality and knocked over their buildings and
[00:11:55] yeah, took their women, piled their fucking animals and piles in the middle of the city and
[00:12:01] danced in the blood of the babies. Right. Yeah. Babylon has suddenly fallen and been destroyed.
[00:12:07] Suddenly this has been happening for years now.
[00:12:12] Whale for her, take balm for her pain. Perhaps she may be healed.
[00:12:18] Perhaps. Perhaps. Do you know God? Right. Do you have the answer, God? I think that no.
[00:12:27] No he doesn't. No. We would have healed Babylon but she is not healed for
[00:12:33] sake her and let us go everyone to his own country. We would have healed Babylon but she is not healed.
[00:12:40] We would have healed her. What does we would have entailed? How did you try? But we decided
[00:12:45] not to. I don't know. Yeah. Maybe that's in a different book that we didn't get to read the
[00:12:51] copy of. But it sounds awfully like that you wanted to kill a lot of them so it doesn't
[00:12:55] really sound like healing, it sounds like murder. Yeah. Yeah. And now you're like
[00:12:58] everyone go back to your own house. This is like somebody that's stepping on you saying
[00:13:03] I tried to not hurt you. I mean come on. It's not my fault you got in the way of my knife.
[00:13:11] Right. I only stabbed you 26 times. That 27th, that was on you. Right. Sir. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:13:18] You should have seen that one coming. Duh asshole. For her judgment reaches to heaven
[00:13:24] and is lifted up to the skies. The Lord has revealed our righteousness. Come and let us declare
[00:13:31] in Zion the work of the Lord our God. We love me some good murder. Party on. Yeah. Right. I guess.
[00:13:40] I mean that loving this God killing people for vengeance. Yeah. You know I didn't really get
[00:13:46] that they dislike the Babylonians this much. Me neither. The Israelites that is. Right.
[00:13:51] You know like it seemed like they had a I mean they were they were going about their business.
[00:13:55] You know like it's just there were certain people that weren't but there were a lot of people who
[00:14:00] were. Yeah. Yeah. Make the arrows bright. Gather the shields. The Lord has raised up the spirit
[00:14:07] of the kings of the Medes for his plan is against Babylon to destroy it because it is
[00:14:13] the vengeance of the Lord the vengeance for his temple. Because they destroyed his temple.
[00:14:20] Yeah. That hurts. Yeah. You destroy God's house and you're fucked. He's going to kill you hard.
[00:14:27] That you see in this this but this strikes me as there was no there was no help for them. There
[00:14:33] was no recourse for them to not get killed. Right. God was going to kill him even though
[00:14:38] God was the one that made them destroy the temple and said for them to destroy the temple
[00:14:43] and that was his plan to begin with. So set up the standard on the walls of Babylon make the guard
[00:14:51] strong set up the watchmen prepare the ambushes going to war. Yeah. For the Lord has both devised
[00:15:00] and done what he spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon but he's still got to send some other
[00:15:07] people to do the work. Yes. Yes. So. O you who dwell by many waters abundant in treasures
[00:15:15] your end has come the measure of your covetousness. What were they coveting? I mean they were taking
[00:15:23] over lots of lands that are probably stealing treasures from all these people and you know
[00:15:27] I mean the things you do as a conqueror you're you got to pay for your war campaign somehow
[00:15:32] which is usually through the spoils of war right. So. That's true. The Lord of hosts has sworn by
[00:15:39] himself surely I will fill you with men as with locusts and they shall lift up a shout against you.
[00:15:47] He has made the earth by his power he has established the world by his wisdom and
[00:15:52] stretched out the heaven by his understanding when he utters his voice his capital H.
[00:15:59] Yeah. Oh God. Yeah. There is a multitude of waters in the heavens he causes the vapors to ascend from
[00:16:08] the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain. He brings the wind out of his treasuries.
[00:16:15] He brings the wind out of his buttfarts. I mean this is so asinine and nonsensical and
[00:16:22] childish right. Everyone is dull hearted without knowledge. He dull hearted knowledgeless
[00:16:28] husband of mine. Wow. Just kidding love you. Yeah. Every metalsmith is put to shame by the
[00:16:36] carved image for his molded images falsehood and there is no breath in them because. Because
[00:16:42] idols again right yeah. Okay. They are futile a work of errors in the time of their punishment
[00:16:50] they shall perish. The portion of Jacob is not like them for he is the maker of all things
[00:16:57] and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance the Lord of hosts is his name. But those people had
[00:17:04] this the same fucking idol that's why he destroyed them in the first place right they had idols
[00:17:08] they worshiped idols they weren't following his word they were doing the exact same fucking things
[00:17:14] that the rest of these people in ancient times were doing but he liked them and not the others.
[00:17:19] Okay. Yeah that's why they're the chosen ones. All right yeah. They're the Harry Potters.
[00:17:24] All right. They don't have to do jack shit. All right. You are my battle axe and weapons of war
[00:17:32] for with you I will break the nation in pieces with you I will destroy kingdoms with you I will
[00:17:39] break in pieces the horse and its rider with you I will break in pieces the chariot and its rider
[00:17:47] with you also I will break in pieces man and woman with you I will break in pieces old and young
[00:17:55] with you I will break in pieces the young man and the maiden with you also I will break in pieces the
[00:18:02] shepherd and his flock oh my god. You're gonna break a lot of pieces. I will break in pieces
[00:18:07] the farmer and his yoke of oxen. I have a question though is he gonna break him out
[00:18:12] piece of that Kit Kat bar? He is. He is. All right. And with you I will break in pieces
[00:18:17] governors and rulers and Kit Kat bars. See? So it says in the Bible. It's in the hands of the
[00:18:23] right yeah totally. That is a lot of breaking shit. It really is. It really is. He's like
[00:18:29] I'm gonna break this I'm gonna break those fuck this fuck that fuck these fuck all of the things
[00:18:35] over there. Yeah look I'm not like a historian okay so I'm I'm qualifying this statement that
[00:18:42] I'm about to make but in all my studying of great conquerors that I've done through my schooling
[00:18:51] I never recall ever hearing about Israel or you know any yeah or Judah being a great conqueror
[00:18:59] right because never anything that was covered like yes I'm sure that they won some battles
[00:19:03] and that they know they got their land back multiple times after being conquered. I was gonna say what we
[00:19:08] know them for is being the downtrodden right they're the chosen people that always get screwed. Yeah yeah
[00:19:13] and and that that goes along with the man with a god like that but but the way he's talking about
[00:19:20] the way that God in this book here is talking about the Israelites right now is that they are
[00:19:23] this great force that's going to topple you know all these yeah topple nations and stuff
[00:19:29] and it's like oh you're so cute. I'm like that's not really what I know of history yeah I mean
[00:19:36] same I'm not saying you guys didn't hold on to your little spot of land kind of okay for a bit right
[00:19:42] but I mean you're not like known as great conquerors either so no because honestly there's not a lot
[00:19:47] of you at this point so you would think though that if God wanted to spread his word he would
[00:19:52] have chosen better warriors I mean honestly because he likes killing he obviously likes yes
[00:19:58] like no offense to those little Israelite guys right but they clearly weren't the best warriors
[00:20:04] out there no yeah so yeah he didn't necessarily choose. I don't think you have to be a good
[00:20:08] good warrior great warrior or anything to be a good person no me neither but God seems to think
[00:20:14] that that is a admirable trait yeah he seems to prefer war mongering over decent humanity
[00:20:23] so he chose wrong yeah right and I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea for
[00:20:31] all the evil they have done in Zion in your sight says the Lord behold I'm against you oh
[00:20:37] destroying mountain who destroys all the earth says the Lord and I will stretch out my hand
[00:20:43] against you roll you down from the rocks and make you a burnt mountain yeah I'm gonna tell people
[00:20:50] when I get mad at them I am gonna push you down a mountain and I'm gonna make you a burnt mountain
[00:20:57] right I'm gonna push you down that hill I'm gonna roll you up you're gonna be a burnt mountain so
[00:21:03] just just a curiosity here because he's kind of talking about Israel being the ones that
[00:21:09] that take back their land in this this chapter right uh-huh but it seems to me in the last
[00:21:14] chapter he was talking about a force from the north being the force that took over yeah
[00:21:18] if I if I recall correctly I thought that that's because you were like
[00:21:22] I was like were they further north yeah because the Babylonians came from the north apparently
[00:21:26] yeah so like where is north of there I have no idea but now it's the Israelites the Israelites
[00:21:32] are getting big and strong again I guess so this seems like it's two separate stories even though
[00:21:37] they're in Egypt now right so well a lot of them are yeah yeah they shall not take from you
[00:21:44] a stone for a corner nor a stone for a foundation but you shall be desolate forever says the lord
[00:21:53] okay set up a banner in the land blow the trumpet among the nations prepare the nations against her
[00:22:01] call the kingdoms together against her okay here we go ready I'm ready here go some nations
[00:22:06] yeah okay Eirurat mini and Ashkenaz appoint a general against her cause the horses to come up
[00:22:14] like bristling locusts wow bristling locusts that's interesting ooh that reminds me have you did I
[00:22:23] already tell you this story have you heard that there are two sets of roots of cicadas yeah yeah
[00:22:28] that are coming around sorry cicadas yeah yeah right um and so the Christians are all losing their
[00:22:33] shit because they're like earthquakes and locusts and eclipse oh my you know what I mean yes yeah but
[00:22:40] what's really cool about these um two broods of locusts that are coming awake at the same time
[00:22:46] right is that there's this fungus that's attacking them and that among us it's going to be among
[00:22:51] them okay and if it gets in the food chain then it might be among us okay and scientists are not
[00:22:56] quite 100 positive how this fungus is going to impact the food chain because the two broods are coming
[00:23:05] together at the same time that's a lot of fucking locusts interesting yeah interesting and this
[00:23:11] low this um um fungus we learned about I don't know if it was like last year or the year before
[00:23:17] very recent like within the last few years um this fungus the last time that um locust came out
[00:23:23] so very recent right um it basically is this like white powdery thing isn't it psychedelic even
[00:23:31] like yes some psychedelic elements to it yes and it makes them lose their junk right and so their whole
[00:23:37] ass end falls off but there's like they're not in pain because of the the fungus that like
[00:23:42] cikes their brain out right right and they don't die they go around just trying to hump everything
[00:23:47] and so they're still trying to fuck yeah and mate and that can't yeah but that's how they spread it
[00:23:53] to each other oh yeah because they're like come here I don't have a penis and my guts are falling
[00:23:59] out but I totally want to fuck you so it's like psychedelic uh cicada zombies yes wow because
[00:24:05] they are kind of zombies right yeah and only they're fuck zombies right instead of wanting to
[00:24:10] eat each other they just want to fuck each other that would you know we talk about band names
[00:24:15] sometimes psychedelic cicada zombies would be a great band name or psychedelic fuck zombies
[00:24:19] right yeah yeah I like this the first one better but psychedelic cicada zombies yeah or locust zombies
[00:24:26] no cicada okay yeah yeah so anytime I see the word locust that's all I could think about is these
[00:24:32] zombie fucking um cicadas right right and honestly I cannot wait even though even though
[00:24:41] there is some question about how it will impact the food supply even just at the lowest level
[00:24:48] yeah so speaking of you you mentioned uh the end of the world and all the signs and all these
[00:24:53] things apocalypse yes go on yeah so um we're still coming up on one of the next apocalyptic days
[00:25:00] which is April 23rd that's right apparently the numerologists amongst the crazy
[00:25:06] think that that is going to be the next that's when the apocalypse was actually gonna happen not during
[00:25:13] it was supposed to be during the eclipse but then it didn't happen so they were like just kidding
[00:25:17] it's only coming up in a week or whatever right I mean we could totally have a like a whole podcast
[00:25:22] dedicated to like apocalypse watch the next apocalypse yeah like still not raptured I
[00:25:28] that should total somebody out there needs to make that podcast yeah I'll probably just call it
[00:25:32] apocalypse watch yeah well like I had um texted my parents when um Iran struck back at Israel
[00:25:40] yeah um this past weekend and was like um the fuck you know right I didn't say the fuck no yeah
[00:25:48] my parents are hardcore christians and sure I try not to they don't like the cusy cussing
[00:25:53] they really don't so I try not to say that shit around them so I was just like wow so that
[00:25:58] happened and then my dad was like yeah straight out of the bible and I was like shooting bombs at
[00:26:04] each other like um the potential to hit a nuclear um facility like yeah those things are in the bible
[00:26:13] huh no it's all about Israel and you know yeah it's all about Israel I know yeah it's just
[00:26:19] but it's not so right let's stop with that bullshit right right like every time something
[00:26:25] happens to Israel people are like it's in the bible and I'm like my god they breathed they breathed is
[00:26:32] that in the bible they breathed they moved they walked it's disturbing to me how much some of these
[00:26:38] people want these end time signs to actually be real well of course they do because they believe
[00:26:43] that they're going to get raptured and go straight to heaven right and meet Jesus and see all their
[00:26:48] dead relatives yeah like my mom but that's what makes it disturbing my mom says over and over
[00:26:53] she can't wait to see your daddy in heaven yeah and I'm like a from what I've heard I don't necessarily
[00:26:59] know that your daddy was a great guy I don't know that he wasn't right but like what makes you think
[00:27:03] he was going to heaven like is that just written in stone like my daddy's in heaven well yeah and
[00:27:08] then the other thing is that but I thought that it was supposed to be there like when you're in
[00:27:13] heaven that you don't give a shit about each other anymore or something like that who fucking
[00:27:18] knows there's not there's no way to know like even if heaven were real there's no way for anybody to
[00:27:24] know what it's actually like there there's not been any there's no there's no proof of any of this
[00:27:30] right so there's no accounting for what actually happened it's all just people hypothesizing what's
[00:27:35] gonna happen after they die they're so excited to die I'm like how are you guys not walking
[00:27:39] out into traffic every day hoping like oh I sure hope a car hits me because I can't commit
[00:27:44] suicide that would be wrong but if I just walk out into the street and a car hits me that's not my
[00:27:51] fault right if I just didn't look both ways before I cross the street yeah just give it to god you know
[00:27:56] right Jesus take the wheel I didn't buckle up today and I accidentally crashed into a fucking wall
[00:28:01] right you know right I just I kind of don't understand how are you so excited to die I gotta
[00:28:08] be honest I think that is the inherent doubt in the system yeah that they don't admit to themselves
[00:28:14] right because otherwise like why my parents are you know they're getting up there in age yeah why do
[00:28:19] you take your medications why do you go get your eyes checked why do you right why did you get all
[00:28:25] of your cancer things taking care of like if you're so excited to die and meet your Jesus and your
[00:28:32] daddy in heaven yeah why don't you just let Jesus take care of you yeah like and why why is all
[00:28:37] that stuff okay but the vaccination isn't right no none of it makes sense if none of it goes
[00:28:42] together and like how is um me saying that a person might have been born in the wrong body
[00:28:51] how is that a slap in God's face when we're talking about gender things but um if you know a child
[00:28:59] needs glasses like that's not a slap in the God's face saying oh my god Jesus really fucked up here
[00:29:05] he really messed that kid's eyes up or like people that are born um with any kind of physical
[00:29:12] ailment like oh man God really fucked this one up like we don't say that that's like why is
[00:29:21] okay I'm sorry I could just go on and on forever yeah so mad about this shit no and I so like you
[00:29:27] you mentioned um the getting mad about people born in the wrong bodies and stuff and there's
[00:29:32] a lot of people out there I this is this is this isn't the exact right conversation but it's one that
[00:29:37] I've had with people who don't understand trans or LGBTQ they don't even know that there are people
[00:29:46] out there that are intersex like that uh that have been born with both genitalia right you know like
[00:29:52] and that's they don't they don't understand that the flaw can happen from birth right you know
[00:29:57] and that not I shouldn't say flaw it's not a flaw no it's not a flaw but it's a perceived flaw
[00:30:03] by Christians right right and and then the doctor or the parents or both they just choose for the baby
[00:30:11] right which way it's gonna go and I've I've had I've had people who are religious stop and go
[00:30:16] huh I didn't know that you know and I'm not saying you're gonna fix the world by bringing
[00:30:21] that up but like there are a lot of people out there that just don't even know what they're
[00:30:25] talking about at all right and it's like so this kid was born with this thing what do you do right
[00:30:32] what do you do because God didn't make that mistake right God doesn't make mistakes except for you know
[00:30:38] every person who was born with some kind of handicap or ailment sure yeah you know those
[00:30:44] somehow aren't mistakes but my god you get between the legs and that is just an insult
[00:30:49] right my arms no my eyes no my ears no my nose no no those are challenges for you to overcome
[00:30:57] yes yes but no if we start talking about your crotch that is a mistake right and you cannot
[00:31:05] say God made a mistake and it's like I wasn't you were that's why it's not a point of discussion
[00:31:10] with them that's why they don't understand that that's why they don't even know that that exists
[00:31:13] right generally I'm not saying always but generally yeah they don't even know that that exists
[00:31:17] yeah well that's because they're ignorant and I do not like that no sorry that we rent way off
[00:31:25] okay locus bristling locus yeah that's how we got the horses the horses are going to be like
[00:31:30] bristling locus yes apologies let's read this chapter prepare against her the nations with the
[00:31:37] kings of the means it is governors and all its rulers all the land of his dominion
[00:31:44] and the land will tremble and sorrow oh that's interesting they're using sorrow as a verb it
[00:31:51] will tremble and sorrow not have sorrow right right that's interesting yeah for every purpose of the
[00:31:57] lord shall be performed against Babylon to make the land of Babylon a desolation without inhabitant
[00:32:05] the mighty men of Babylon mighty men mighty morphine power rangers of Babylon have ceased
[00:32:12] fighting they have remained in their strongholds their might has failed uh oh they became like women
[00:32:21] oh my god does he really say that it literally says they became like women i hate the bible
[00:32:29] oh i hate it when men become like women oh that's the worst when men are like women
[00:32:35] i mean who wants to be like women oh there's there's your argument it says in the bible men
[00:32:40] become like women yeah so there you go i mean that's why they would see it as a mistake because who
[00:32:45] the fuck wants to be like a woman those pieces of shit um just for the record yeah that's not
[00:32:50] our point of view right i'm a woman right yes yes oh my god i hate this book they have burned
[00:32:57] her dwelling places the bars of her gate are broken one runner will run to meet another and one
[00:33:05] messenger to meet another to show the king of Babylon that his city is taken on all sides
[00:33:12] because he can't see it from his castle looking out a farcoy fuck me that's a lot of smoke it's
[00:33:17] north southeast and west of me yeah the passages are blocked the reeds they have burned with fire
[00:33:23] and the men of war are terrified you're crying like little girls i mean much like when Jerusalem
[00:33:30] was surrounded by men of war that were closing in on them yeah i'm just saying right yeah like here's
[00:33:37] here's a thing guys um there is no shame in crying whether you're a man or a woman right and let us
[00:33:43] all feel the feels let us all get in touch with our emotions and be able to name them wouldn't
[00:33:49] that be a thing right if we didn't like make fun of men for crying or make fun of men for
[00:33:56] having more effeminate qualities like what is wrong with effeminate qualities i have them
[00:34:01] were you saying some shit about me do you want to say it to my fucking face like hello for thus says
[00:34:09] the lord of hosts the god of israel the daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor when it is
[00:34:15] time to thresh her i hate it when we thresh her yeah yet a little while and the time of her
[00:34:22] harvest will come oh they're gonna harvest that bench they're gonna harvest are so fucking hard
[00:34:28] they're gonna thrust and they're gonna harvest yes nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has
[00:34:36] devoured me yeah wait wait wait wait we're still in the time of nebuchadnezzar apparently because
[00:34:42] he devoured me he ate me baby okay oh well okay continue because i'm i'm curious because it
[00:34:50] was supposed to be 70 years later before you know the israelites were gonna come back right so is this
[00:34:56] saying that he is destroyed okay i'm confused do i look like a calendar no i know i know i know
[00:35:01] do i look like a bible planner keeper right nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me
[00:35:10] he has crushed me yeah he has he has made me an empty vessel okay he has swallowed me up like a
[00:35:19] monster slurp he has filled his stomach with my delicacies yeah he has spit me out turn your head
[00:35:29] now baby don't spit me out what is that song uh that is oh my god i cannot remember off the top of
[00:35:39] my head okay well somebody knows right somebody out there is yelling right on the tip of my tongue
[00:35:44] i i know i know the song i just let the violence done to me in my flesh be upon Babylon the inhabitant
[00:35:52] of Zion will say will he or is it you saying that god right i feel like maybe the people would not
[00:36:01] quite be so shittastic if you were not like drumming them up but then again you don't exist
[00:36:10] and they wrote this after so never mind they were just that shitty right my bad yeah and my blood
[00:36:18] be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea Jerusalem will say the will the other Jerusalem's gonna say
[00:36:25] they're gonna revel in all that blood okay they love it they love the blood
[00:36:30] therefore thus says the lord behold i will plead your case and take vengeance for you
[00:36:36] i will dry up her sea and make her springs dry babble he's gonna hump them dry
[00:36:42] Babylon shall become a heap a dwelling place for jackals an astonishment and a hissing
[00:36:49] hiss without an inhabitant there are like there must be literally nowhere to live in this this part
[00:36:55] of the world all because they're all fucking dried up and uh you know yeah every ple- every single
[00:37:01] city every single place at one point has been like nobody will ever live here again i'm starting
[00:37:06] to feel like this maybe all happened in like the sahara desert or something they shall roar together
[00:37:13] like lions they shall growl like lions welps in their excitement i will prepare their feasts
[00:37:20] i will make them drunk that they may rejoice and sleep a perpetual sleep and not wake oh says the
[00:37:27] lord okay he's gonna knock him out he's gonna poison them he's gonna he's gonna drug him i guess
[00:37:33] i will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter like rams with male goats like rams with male okay
[00:37:42] okay what is it like rams with male goats and i don't know do what do rams do to male goats i would
[00:37:49] imagine rams are more powerful than male goats so they probably destroy the male goats they ram
[00:37:54] them to death they ram them yeah okay and then and then so the male goats are like ow and then they
[00:38:00] die yeah i think i think that i think that tracks maybe okay i mean again i'm not an expert on goats
[00:38:07] yeah i don't know anything about animals yeah things but uh i'm i'm guessing that's where
[00:38:11] they're going with that okay so oh how she shesh is taken uh how the praise of the whole
[00:38:20] earth is seized how Babylon has become desolate among the nations the sea has come up over Babylon
[00:38:28] she is covered with the multitude of its waves her cities are a desolation a dry land and a
[00:38:35] wilderness wait so how did the seas come up i was wondering desolation and dry land it's wet and
[00:38:40] dry it's yeah it's wet and dry it's whatever fits at the given moment for a metaphor yeah
[00:38:46] so yeah it's perfect and awful yeah it's perfectly awful right a land where no one dwells
[00:38:53] through which no son of man passes well if nobody goes there then who cares what you do to it honestly
[00:38:59] go ahead i guess right i will punish bell in Babylon and i will bring out of his mouth what he has
[00:39:07] swallowed no don't make him pee that was a god right bell um i think so yeah okay and the nations
[00:39:16] shall not stream to him anymore yes the wall of Babylon shall fall my people go out of the midst
[00:39:25] of her and let everyone deliver himself from the fear singer of the lord unless your heart faints
[00:39:32] and you fear for the rumor that will be heard in the land a rumor that will come one year and after
[00:39:39] that in another year a rumor will come and violence in the land ruler against ruler that was parentheses
[00:39:46] voice okay therefore behold the days are coming that i will bring judgment on the carved images
[00:39:51] of Babylon at least that's the rumor that's what i heard her whole land shall be ashamed and all
[00:39:58] her slain shall fall in her midst but he just told them all to leave so right anybody who stays with
[00:40:05] all those rumors flying right yeah i mean they they told jay he coming so again i still feel like
[00:40:13] this stuff is propaganda like if you say my god's gonna destroy your god and all of a sudden
[00:40:19] you know if you can make people afraid enough to have some of them abandon their their
[00:40:25] strongholds right yeah that much easier for you to come in and take over so then you get to be like
[00:40:29] see told you right so if you if you write good a good enough story that's you know a fearful my god's
[00:40:35] going to destroy your god type thing yeah and maybe back in these times that worked you know like
[00:40:40] maybe that did get some people to flee and be like i don't want to be part of this fucking war i
[00:40:44] didn't pay the i didn't sign up for this shit i'm just a fucking farmer scary man yeah yeah he's
[00:40:49] gonna smite my ass right i'm out then the heavens and the earth and all that is in them shall sing
[00:40:56] joyously over babelon for the plunderers shall come to her from the north says the lord from
[00:41:03] there's from the north again yeah okay as babelon has caused the slain of israel to fall so at
[00:41:10] babelon the slain of all the earth shall fall you who have escaped the sword get away do not stand
[00:41:18] still remember the lord afar off and let jerusalem come to your mind we are ashamed because we have
[00:41:26] heard reproach shame has covered our faces shame shame right shame for strangers have come into
[00:41:34] the sanctuaries of the lord's house therefore behold the days are coming says the lord yeah
[00:41:42] that i will bring judgment on her carved images and throughout all her land the wounded shall
[00:41:47] grown oh my god this is repetitive yeah i'm coming i'm coming to get you i'm coming i'm still mad
[00:41:52] about idols too i'm getting your idols i'm getting your land i'm getting your buildings i'm getting
[00:41:56] your people right i'm coming yeah though babelon were to mount up to heaven and though she were
[00:42:03] to fortify the height of her strength yet from me plunderers would come to her says the lord
[00:42:09] so basically saying this city can't climb high enough right away from the shit i'm sending
[00:42:15] the sound of a cry comes from babelon and great destruction from the land of the chaldeans
[00:42:22] because the lord is plundering babelon and silencing her loud voice though her waves roar
[00:42:28] like great waters and the noise of their voice is uttered because the plunderer comes against her
[00:42:36] against babelon and her mighty men are taken you know this reminds me of when i was reading
[00:42:44] beowulf oh yeah yeah like the behold and her mighty men are taken like it just it's like a long
[00:42:52] epic right and i expect this long chapter about i'm coming i'm coming to get you the men they're
[00:42:58] strong they're strong men the strong men are strong and they're gonna die and i'm coming yeah
[00:43:04] like that kind of repetitive chapter i would expect in a beowulf sure not in chapter 51 of
[00:43:13] Jeremiah that it hasn't been like up until now right so this is weird yeah every one of the bows
[00:43:21] is broken for the lord is the god of recompense he will surely repay just to be clear you're
[00:43:28] saying that it's repetitive like over and over within the same yeah you know sections not even
[00:43:34] as opposed to like because i mean it's the messaging is something that's been repetitive throughout the
[00:43:39] right old testament but the way it's repetitive the way this chapter is repetitive in itself right
[00:43:45] i just wanted to clarify sorry yeah no you're fine and i will make oh my god it's still going
[00:43:51] i will make drunk her princes and wise men her governors her deputies and her mighty men
[00:43:59] and her mighty morphen power rangers and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep and not awake says the
[00:44:07] king whose name is the lord of hosts so again with the poison or whatever yeah thus says the lord of
[00:44:14] hosts the broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken remember that time i already said that
[00:44:20] still mean it right and her high gates shall be burned with fire fire you got it the people will
[00:44:28] labor in vain and the nations because of the fire and they shall be very weary okay yeah i'm always
[00:44:37] weary when people trying to kill my ass right i don't know that i would be i mean why would you be
[00:44:42] laboring when there's fire unless you're laboring to put out the fire that's what i think they
[00:44:46] okay okay but that would be hard to do when you're in a place where there's no water except for that
[00:44:51] there's lots of water so i mean i'm not sure which one of this dry and wet and dry and apparently
[00:44:56] they're probably not a lot of water there since they're struggling to put out the fire right
[00:45:02] so and it's in the middle of right now yeah no water the word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded
[00:45:09] saraya the son of naraya the son of messiah when he went with zedekiah the king of Judah
[00:45:15] to Babylon in the fourth year of his reign this should be a separate chapter oh yeah sorry
[00:45:21] and saraya was the quarter master so Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that would come upon
[00:45:27] Babylon all these words that are written against Babylon and Jeremiah said to saraya
[00:45:32] when you arrive in Babylon and see it and read all these words then you shall say oh lord
[00:45:38] you have spoken against this place to cut it off so that none shall remain in it neither man
[00:45:43] nor beast but it shall be desolate forever now it shall be when you have finished reading this book
[00:45:49] that you shall tie a stone to it and throw it out into the euphrates then you shall say
[00:45:55] thus Babylon shall sink and not rise from the catastrophe that i will bring upon her
[00:46:00] and they shall be weary thus far are the words of Jeremiah this sounds like he's so like okay
[00:46:08] zedekiah was taken to Babylon right remember like he was one of the wasn't even one of the
[00:46:12] ones that was taken as a captive or whatever yes and then they put his eyes out right after they
[00:46:17] killed his kids so apparently um Jeremiah sent him with these words to read i have no idea okay well
[00:46:25] i don't mean but no saraya oh saraya Jeremiah said that shit to saraya okay so i'm assuming
[00:46:32] that this is saraya was one of the captives that got taken to Babylon sure but remember
[00:46:36] how he was communicating with them and whatever what have you yeah this whole thing sounds like a
[00:46:41] spell yeah does it not it does like that you're gonna read the words out loud and then you're
[00:46:46] going to take a stone and wrap it around the words and throw it into the bottom of the euphrates
[00:46:50] yeah it sounds like a fucking curse slash spell it's a magic spell there's goddamn spells in the
[00:46:57] bible this is a magic spell that's a magic spell it's a curse the fuck is this shit this is a curse
[00:47:03] oh and they had to rip that's why it's so weirdly written and repetitive you are 100
[00:47:08] percent right and i hate myself for not realizing it i was so close when i was like this chapter is
[00:47:14] weird right it keeps it's saying shit that it's not normal yeah that's why it was it's a curse
[00:47:22] yeah they were writing down a curse for Jeremiah Jeremiah was writing down this curse for this
[00:47:27] kid saraya to go take up there and to throw into the river there are literal magic spells in
[00:47:32] the fucking bible yeah this is ridiculous well but now that i have this i have a list of people
[00:47:38] that i need to go copy this and i wonder if it has to be the euphrates or can i throw it in the
[00:47:44] Ohio river what do you think i i think i think that it's not gonna work i'm not asking for whole
[00:47:52] cities to go down right yeah just like certain individuals also i mean if we're counting on
[00:47:57] god to do this for us i even if god were real i don't think we'd be in his best you know um
[00:48:02] grace uh for having this happen so well maybe you just have to believe it real hard they're doing
[00:48:09] a magic spell i don't think that i think that they're not talking about the same god that they
[00:48:15] were talking about earlier i mean they are invoking god in the spell yeah it's just this feels more
[00:48:21] like um cobblest is there was a cow cabalists yeah as opposed to like yeah you know the other
[00:48:28] shit we've been reading so like this is very um spellish yeah i don't know what else to say like
[00:48:35] i like i want i want to rewrite this though and fill in the blank was like the names of certain
[00:48:41] people and then like sing it and like record it and then you know throw it in the Ohio river
[00:48:50] and then you know a year from then go back and be like so here's what happened why don't we
[00:48:56] i mean the great miami is closer we should just throw in the great miami is the well i was thinking
[00:49:01] that the Ohio river isn't bigger than the great miami yeah but that it's further drive you know
[00:49:05] we just the great miami is you know i well down the street you know i know it's just i was thinking
[00:49:10] like because it's the name of the state that it would have more weight and bearing you think
[00:49:14] yeah that this is the name of this the name of the the river matters well okay they were going
[00:49:20] with the euphrates that's a big and true they didn't go with no local stream you're right
[00:49:24] you're right i mean if that's the case we should go to the mississippi i was gonna say we honestly
[00:49:29] we should really go to the mississippi for this yeah that would make it work better sure okay no
[00:49:34] but it'd be fun though it'd be fun wrap a stone with it that should be like our first like uh
[00:49:42] our first actual event we should like do like a wrap a stone you know oh we should do spells
[00:49:48] to um to you know get rid of all the influence of of religious nutbags yeah and we should all wrap a
[00:49:56] stone around our scrolls that we write that's that's the things that we want to happen yeah and then
[00:50:01] we should all go to the mississippi river and just you know chuck it chant some things and
[00:50:05] then we'll just chuck them in the bottom of the river yeah i think that's a great event please
[00:50:09] don't let trump win again right chuck it but we got it we gotta like seeing all this stuff i
[00:50:18] that's the that's the best way right everybody knows that magic spells only work if you see them
[00:50:23] is that okay and the fact that they didn't include those instructions in this right tell me that
[00:50:27] you're a little disappointed well i think that they they already knew it oh it was so common
[00:50:32] okay that they didn't have to say it they just knew it i see okay i'm very excited about this plan
[00:50:38] i'm really excited to plan our first stone scroll event yeah that's what i'm saying i think
[00:50:42] that's the thing that we should do i'm very excited about this plan yeah yeah i agree okay um you put
[00:50:48] that together i think we need to put it down as an idea for later on yeah um and then something
[00:50:55] that we'll plan i wonder if we should get like special stones or special scrolls like it feels like
[00:51:02] we should order some papyrus you know like and you gotta write and then we'll have like
[00:51:06] fill in the blank so that anybody that shows up they can just write whatever name or event
[00:51:11] that they want in the blanks sure as they sing it with us right yeah yeah okay we can we could have a
[00:51:18] i write our songs for us oh my gosh you know that would be amazing yeah yeah okay i love this i am
[00:51:25] loving this that's ridiculous and silly and that's why i love it because it's so fucking stupid
[00:51:31] right it's so fucking stupid you fucking stupid bible you have a magic spell a curse
[00:51:39] in your goddamn weeping prophet one of your most popular fucking books in the bible yeah
