[00:04:50] And so then the leader of Babylon was I can't remember his name is why he's seeing Babylon.

[00:05:21] So I think I am going to use Gedalaya and appoint him as my governor of this area. Sure.

[00:05:33] He's got administrative experience, he's not of the royal line, he's gonna work with me.

[00:05:39] So I think that'll be cool. Okay. And so then Jeremiah was given the choice of you can go with

[00:05:46] the prisoners to Babylon. You was like should I stay or should I go? Should I stay or should I go now?

[00:05:53] You definitely fed me that line but if he had gone, he would have been treated really well because

[00:06:00] he would have been right under the captain of the guard which was Nebuchadnezzar or something.

[00:06:07] Or something like that. Yeah. Zedekalon. I don't know. Anyway whatever that dude's name was.

[00:06:13] He would have been treated very well or he could stay behind with the remnants and kind of try to

[00:06:20] rally them a little bit and maybe take care of them or whatever. Sure.

[00:06:24] So he chose to stay which I find very interesting and odd but okay.

[00:06:29] Right. So Gedalaya, governor of Judah, what's up? Right? Yeah. So okay. Gedalaya then was like hey

[00:06:37] you know what? Let's try to make the best of this. Okay. Let's just try to you know rebuild the land

[00:06:45] a little bit. See what we can fix here. Yeah. And the people are like yeah, you know okay, okay.

[00:06:53] But then Ishmael, the son of Nethanaya was like I should have been made the governor because I

[00:07:02] am from the royal party and I fucking hate you. Yeah. And then so somebody was like oh,

[00:07:12] I don't think you should talk like that. And Ishmael was like I'm gonna kill that bitch.

[00:07:16] Right. And then someone's always pissed off when somebody else is enjoying the show.

[00:07:20] Right? And so then somebody was like hey Gedalaya, I think this Ishmael dude might want to kill you.

[00:07:28] Right. And Gedalaya was like get the fuck out of here. Right. That would be stupid. We're happy now.

[00:07:34] We're rebuilding the land. And plus he was I think getting along with the guy that was gonna say,

[00:07:39] well they had served in the same court for the last decade or whatever.

[00:07:43] Right. So he's like no way he would never you're being stupid. This is my pal. Yeah.

[00:07:48] You know we we served together. We do good together. Yeah. You know. So he's like you're silly.

[00:07:54] So let's talk about Gedalaya. Okay. The name Gedalaya means y'all has become great.

[00:08:00] Okay. So his name is godly I guess. Sure. Okay. He was the son of he come who saved the life

[00:08:08] of the prophet Jeremiah. Okay. I don't know if you recall back when like in the earlier chapters

[00:08:16] of Jeremiah there was a guy who kind of stepped in and and like one of the governor people.

[00:08:24] Okay. One of the people with high stature kind of took his side and was like don't let's not kill

[00:08:29] this one. Yeah. Don't kill him. Yeah. So that was that was a he come who was Gedalaya's daddy.

[00:08:36] Right. Okay. And so a he come was the grandson of Shafan who's mentioned in relation to the discovery

[00:08:45] of the scroll of teaching which I mentioned this when we were reading it. Yeah.

[00:08:50] Um some scholars identify that as the core of the book of Deuteronomy. Okay. So remember when like

[00:08:56] it all went missing and then this one guy was like yeah. We found it. Yeah. Look what we found.

[00:09:02] Yeah. Yeah. And so Joseph was like that's cool. Right. They just found it like on the shelf

[00:09:07] of some library or whatever. Sure. As you do. You know. Yeah. Yeah. So anyway that's that's how

[00:09:12] this family is is related. Okay. So they're they're not of the royal line of David but they are

[00:09:20] important royal David line adjacent right. Yeah. Yeah. So Gedalaya was appointed by

[00:09:27] Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon as governor of the Yehud district. The Yehud district.

[00:09:32] Yehud. Love that name. Yeah. Which was formed after defeat of the kingdom of Judah and the destruction

[00:09:39] of Jerusalem in part of territory that previously formed the kingdom. Okay. Yeah. So he was

[00:09:46] supported by a Chaldean guard stationed at Mizpah. Okay. So you know Babylon uh Nettikadnezzar.

[00:09:55] Nettikadnezzar? That guy why can't I suddenly remember his name? I don't know. Nettikadnezzar was like

[00:10:00] okay we we won and now we're leaving and here guard guy you stay behind and I choose you

[00:10:09] um Gedalaya to wait is that his name? Gedalaya. Yeah. Gedalaya. I'm having a hard time with names

[00:10:16] he's like guard guy you're in charge Gedalaya you're the governor and now I'm out peace,

[00:10:22] dooses, bye and he went back home. Right. So they didn't really have free arraying. They were

[00:10:28] they were in charge but they were in charge as long as they did the bidding of what never

[00:10:32] ever has said to them. Yeah, but they were they were given freedom within

[00:10:38] right structure sure you know structured freedom right so I mean it was it was a gilded cage

[00:10:44] but it was a cage nonetheless yeah but you know they weren't like doing slavery work they were

[00:10:51] just you know whatever yeah anyway you see what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah so um he was supported by the

[00:10:59] Chao Ding guard stationed at Miss Pa okay and on hearing of the appointment the Jews that had taken

[00:11:04] refuge in surrounding countries they returned to Judah okay because they were like oh wait

[00:11:09] they put one of us in charge yeah things are we're still we're still here they did a Gedalaya

[00:11:15] governor right this is what unexpected right I guess it wasn't as bad as kind of bad yeah

[00:11:22] and so the new governor Gedalaya he began the task of restoring order peace and productivity in Judah

[00:11:28] okay and he saw that it would be useless for those who remained of Judah's army to attempt any sort

[00:11:34] of military action against the Babylonian occupation forces right so he was like no this is not we're

[00:11:41] not here to fight anymore they they already beat us yeah okay we're not gonna do that so he advised

[00:11:48] instead that all the people farmers and soldiers alike settle down and help make Judah's damaged

[00:11:54] farmland productive again sure which I mean work on what you can yeah yeah exactly which I mean

[00:12:00] he sounds kind of like a good guy you know I'm yeah he's making the best of it you know right

[00:12:05] and this would ensure for themselves a fairly comfortable existence under their new rulers okay

[00:12:11] and the only one really that would be put out would be the soldiers you know right they're like no

[00:12:17] this bullshit the farmers whatever we farm who cares who's in charge yeah we're gonna be farming

[00:12:21] regardless right like I don't really care who boss man's name is yeah either way I'm farming the land

[00:12:27] and I don't probably get to see a lot of the benefits of it sure so this Gedalaya guy he zealously

[00:12:36] like super excited to get things going he zealously began to encourage the people to cultivate the

[00:12:42] fields and vineyards okay and thus lay the foundation of security okay and the more that he was

[00:12:48] like saying let's do good stuff the more that people were like okay and the more that good stuff

[00:12:54] started to happen the more who that the people who had fled to neighboring lands during the war

[00:13:00] of destruction yeah they were attracted by news of the revival of the community so they started coming

[00:13:05] back to Gedalaya in Miss Pa and they were warmly welcomed by him so all of the people who had fled

[00:13:12] and were refugees and nearby towns so he was being a good ruler yeah right they were all coming home

[00:13:17] they were like this cool this cool right okay at least to some people anyway right right

[00:13:23] Gedalaya also welcomed home those Judeans who fled to neighboring countries to escape the Babylonian

[00:13:29] army and under Gedalaya's leadership the Judeans soon saw their country be kind productive again

[00:13:37] so I mean there was a time period when they were actually rebuilding right this wasn't just like two

[00:13:42] days and then yeah you know this was like a good strong period of time right when they were actually

[00:13:50] rebuilding yeah but the Ishmael guy yeah he was having none of it okay so where we left off in our

[00:14:00] last chapter chapter 40 mm-hmm was he didn't like it so I'm about to give you a spoiler okay okay

[00:14:08] because when we read on Monday in chapter 41 Ishmael is actually going to kill Gedalaya

[00:14:17] which we guessed at we did guess I mean it wasn't like a real big foreshadowing is not like a super

[00:14:22] spoiler right the reason that I'm giving that away in this little Q&A section uh-huh because

[00:14:30] that assassination has repercussions to this day oh yeah the assassination of Gedalaya left Judah

[00:14:39] devoid of any Jews or Jewish rule and completed the destruction of the first temple oh wow yeah like

[00:14:46] that was it it was done at that so they destroyed themselves essentially yes Jewish sages

[00:14:53] established the fast of Gedalaya so this is a day of memorial still today wow yeah it's observed

[00:15:00] on the third day of Tishri so as not to coincide with Rush Hoshana which is the Jewish New Year

[00:15:07] that occurs in the late summer slash early autumn okay yeah um it's suspected that his

[00:15:15] assassination occurred on the first day of of that time period okay but they don't want it to

[00:15:22] coincide with that so that's why they celebrated on the third day and stage sure but yeah that is

[00:15:27] still actually a one of the I think for uh feast days interesting yeah so I didn't want to talk

[00:15:35] about Gedalaya without mentioning that he is actually significant still significant day yeah so

[00:15:44] that is my little tidbit on Gedalaya we will still read a little bit about him on Monday when

[00:15:49] he's not dead yet sure yeah but gets dead real fast right right okay yeah so that rings us to uh

[00:15:56] what I wanted to talk about oh yeah yeah and uh so I some of you may have heard that tomorrow

[00:16:03] being uh Monday the uh April the 8th um-hmm 2024 there's gonna be a total solar eclipse

[00:16:12] a totally eclipse of the heart you know no no it's the sun yeah totally eclipse of the heart

[00:16:19] so it struck me out of left field kind of and I should know because this happens every time

[00:16:24] there's something weird happening different happening whatever it happens pretty much daily actually

[00:16:30] I would say somebody's got some sort of a prophecy some sort of uh an idea that the apocalypse is

[00:16:37] gonna happen that the end of times is on its way right it is on its way every day always yeah for

[00:16:43] several thousand years now yeah they're kind of late but I mean you know whatever whatever so they

[00:16:49] keep we keep always having these new things where they're like the end of the world is coming on

[00:16:54] this date remember remember why 2k yes I don't know that that was real biblical though that was more like

[00:17:01] the society is gonna ruin it yeah right yeah so I'm sure there were some biblical stuff going on

[00:17:07] then but you know it didn't feel biblical to me I was in Florida at the time and a lot of the people

[00:17:14] that I talked to they were actually stockpiling um water and weapons and canned goods wow yeah

[00:17:22] because they were like society is gonna fall I mean to be fair my mom bought some bottle

[00:17:26] of canned goods and some water and I think some duct tape or something I don't know right we had

[00:17:31] we had a stockpile I remember yeah so yeah that happened during why 2k kids ask your parents what

[00:17:37] why 2k was about anyway so tomorrow the well actually as you don't have much time probably if

[00:17:48] you're listening to this today which we're gonna release as soon as we're done you've got

[00:17:52] till tomorrow and then tomorrow if you're listening to this if you don't listen to it before like

[00:17:57] I don't know 1 or 2 o'clock in the afternoon Eastern time it's probably already happening man yeah

[00:18:38] the solar eclipse on April 8th has stirred interest and concern related to biblical prophecy it will

[00:18:43] be a total eclipse visible across the US which won't happen again for 20 years and it is not just any

[00:18:49] eclipse like the ones we have seen before as it will be on the same day as the three days of darkness

[00:18:54] in Egypt during an eclipse the moon blocks the sun temporarily but beyond its visual spectacle

[00:19:00] people see connections to warnings and scripture about signs from God in the biblical scriptures

[00:19:05] astronomical phenomena are alluded to as warning signs as the Bible tells us in Joel 2 verse 31

[00:19:11] the sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and dreadful day of

[00:19:16] the Lord comes a past eclipse on August 24th 2017 went through seven cities named Salam

[00:19:23] another eclipse will cross America with a similar pattern over seven cities called Nineveh

[00:19:28] as in the book of Jonah the word Salam according to the Bible is peace so God is said to have offered

[00:19:34] peace seven times through these signs this next eclipse crosses Nineveh cities and makes a perfect

[00:19:38] cross on the center of the nation right in the center of the cross is a city called rapture what

[00:19:44] is God's message he's coming very very soon and then there's this one the solar eclipse is coming

[00:19:52] next month and will cross over many cities named Nineveh now what is the significance of this

[00:19:57] and what is God saying there was a biblical scholar named Donald Wiseman and he speculated that

[00:20:03] the eclipse took place around the time that Jonah arrived in Nineveh and urged the people to repent

[00:20:08] otherwise the city would have been destroyed now the path on April 8th for the us eclipse passes

[00:20:14] directly over or nearby these towns look at this Nineveh Texas Nineveh Missouri Nineveh Indiana

[00:20:21] Nineveh Ohio Nineveh Pennsylvania Nineveh Virginia Nineveh New York Nineveh Nova Scotia

[00:20:29] Now Nineveh is mentioned in the Bible most notably in the book of Jonah where it was associated with

[00:20:36] the city full of sin and vice now prior to its fall however Nineveh was the largest urban center in

[00:20:42] the world now as the story is related in book Jonah the prophet Jonah was called by God to go to

[00:20:49] Nineveh and to prophesy disaster if they did not repent because of their excessive wickedness now

[00:20:56] Jonah wanted nothing to do with Nineveh he did not listen to God and we all know the story of

[00:21:01] Jonah but thank God the second time he listened and he went to Nineveh and preached to them and they

[00:21:08] listened and they repented so is this eclipse coming a sign from God because of the significance of

[00:21:14] all the cities named Nineveh what do you think comment below but nonetheless we have to get ready

[00:21:46] and it's i just the amount of times I can I hear about in timed prophecies because of this event or

[00:21:54] that event all the time but the one that really made this one stand out to me is that in I think it

[00:22:02] was to maybe it was yesterday um but Marjorie Taylor Greene decided that she was going to um

[00:22:11] chime in on this little conspiracy theory here okay so on let me let me find the date here exactly

[00:22:18] I've got to pull it up here so it could be just one moment but it happened very recently

[00:22:24] and I am still looking here but it happened on April 5th so two days ago Marjorie Taylor Greene says

[00:22:34] God is sending America strong science to tell us to repent earthquakes and eclipses and many more

[00:22:39] things to come I pray that our country listens oh my goodness yeah yeah and then not only she didn't

[00:22:46] take that down she followed up with it and retweeted it with her own another comment that says that

[00:22:55] many have mocked and scoffed at this post and even put community notes Jesus talked about that in

[00:22:59] Luke 1254 that through 56 yes eclipses are predictable and earthquakes happen and we know when

[00:23:07] comments are passing by however God created all those things all these things and you and uses them to

[00:23:13] be signs for those who us who believe but how do you how I just I can't you can't even

[00:23:24] formulate words no it's so it anger me like it's so asinine how are natural events signs I've

[00:23:31] never understood this how are natural events that can be calculated yeah signs we've known about

[00:23:37] this eclipse way longer than you've been alive Marjorie Taylor Greene right so like it it has no

[00:23:44] significance it is just something that it was and isn't will always happen well what I find interesting

[00:23:51] is nil de gras Tyson took a lot of shit because he was always with the last big gigantic exciting

[00:24:00] eclips he was so dismissive he's like my guys there's a fucking eclips of something somewhere

[00:24:21] in in a I mean ultimately we're a tiny solar system and a giant universe you know like

[00:24:27] we're so insignificant and things are just happening you know like that's just what happens yeah

[00:24:32] and the cool thing to me has always been science right like this shit is is predictable this shit is

[00:24:39] you can explain it there's a reason for it and we can know those things which is really fucking cool

[00:24:46] yeah but then these religious nuts have to turn them into a god damn prophecy in a circus yeah

[00:24:51] and make shit up because wasn't like they were talking about the towns of Nineveh that is

[00:24:56] supposed to go through and that's not exactly correct I don't think well no there's only like three

[00:25:02] towns of Nineveh not like eight right some shit like that yeah and it's not a god damn X or whatever

[00:25:09] the fuck they're trying to say it is right well there's multiple symbols that they're attaching to

[00:25:13] it there's like an a and across and uh you know whatever like they're attaching all kinds of

[00:25:18] sign of symbolism to these things so right and they're just throwing some getting at the wall

[00:25:23] hoping something sticks honestly it's clickbait mm-hmm but you know the the truth is that we have a

[00:25:30] congresswoman in our national political realm who is spreading these fucking conspiracy theories

[00:25:40] right like she is literally she believes that this is a sign from God that it might be the beginning

[00:25:47] of the rapture and times or some shit like that she believes this shit and she's not alone there are

[00:25:53] many people who think this is a sign which is silly and in of itself but for somebody of that

[00:25:59] caliber of that stature yes that that to be to be in our hallowed halls of it's a fucking embarrassment

[00:26:09] it is very embarrassing yeah like this is this is embarrassing for the United States

[00:26:14] to have somebody up there saying conspiracy theory bullshit based on biblical fucking prophecies right

[00:26:21] you've got to be had that's so fucking 1600s right I mean what the fuck well in the the whole

[00:26:28] three days of darkness yeah like hi I literally was looking that up because I was like what's

[00:26:33] a three days of darkness yeah it falls on a Thursday Friday Saturday so we're good y'all

[00:30:23] else to say I have heard from reliable sources that accents on the road do go up during the solar

[00:30:31] eclipse so everybody be safe out there because people stop to you know it's dumb also this is dumb

[00:30:37] also right but people stop in the middle of the fucking road to watch the guy's name clips that and

[00:30:42] if they didn't realize it was happening and the sky is suddenly dark for a minute yeah that

[00:30:47] that could be spooky that's disconcerting yeah not everybody is you know dialed in and aware

[00:30:54] moreover yes do be careful but moreover I've also heard that you really should

[00:31:04] also don't look at the sun don't directly at the sun except for apparently and look this up

[00:31:08] for yourself because I don't want to be the authority on this 100 but apparently there are two

[00:31:13] minutes in which you are allowed to look at the sun maybe because not because the sun's not there

[00:31:19] the sun is not there so you're not looking at the sun you're looking at the lack of sun right

[00:31:22] right right but I'm just you know and toward that end the corona that surrounds where the sun is

[00:31:29] supposed to be but isn't it's supposed to be very gorgeous yeah but moreover what I was going to say

[00:31:34] is that if you are out there enjoying the eclipse and you know partaking of the excitement

[00:31:44] of this natural phenomenon I have heard that you're supposed to not just look up but also look around

[00:31:50] yeah and feel the air change in temperature mildly and enjoy the sound of nature changing

[00:32:00] for a moment yeah like the wind or the it's an experience yeah like you might hear

[00:32:09] the birds stop or start you might hear locusts or whatever you whatever yeah things will happen

[00:32:16] things will happen also I have heard that during a full solar eclipse like this

[00:32:23] that the air might even get a little shimmery in some places yeah like so look around tell me what

[00:32:30] you see yeah and we are right we are literally right in the path of this thing so date no hi oh

[00:32:35] date no hi oh yeah but it's supposed to be cloudy overhead tomorrow so we might not it'll still get

[00:32:40] dark we're still going to be outside yeah but you know hopefully we'll be clear hopefully we'll be

[00:32:45] clear right for the you know at least the two I want to see the two minutes you know the corona the

[00:32:50] the whole bit there so be safe be careful on the roads if you're driving do enjoy it don't stare at
