Why Are There Two Books of Samuel?

Husband and Wife answer a question we've all been asking for a while now: Why the heck are there TWO books of Samuel? Particularly when my guy dies half way thru the first one? (tl;dr... It's the end of an era.) We also get distracted by the Dead Sea Scrolls because OBVIOUSLY.
