Psalm 87: The Privileges of Dwelling in Zion. Starts, "His Foundation is in the Holy Mountains." This psalm describes Jerusalem as the center of the world and is classified as one of the Songs of Zion. It's super short but packs a punch in mentioning Rahab, a mystical, demonic, chaotic, multi-headed sea-dragon representative of either The Abyss or Egypt. Forget psalms. We wanna learn more about this guy!

Psalm 88: A Prayer for Mercy and Deliverance from Death. Starts, "O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee." It was written by Heman the Ezrahite, a wise man from the time of King Solomon. This psalm is often assumed to be a Sick Psalm and stands alone for its unrelieved gloom and hopeless sorrow. So naturally, Wife wants it carved on her gravestone.

Psalm 89: God's Covenant with David. Starts, "I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever." Written by Ethan the Ezrahite, a wise man from the time of King Solomon. This psalm is sometimes referred to as a Covenant Psalm, and indeed, it goes on for a full page about how awesome God is. Boooring!

This wraps up the third of the five books in the Book of Psalms. Wheee!
