Bible Study for Atheists: Exodus Chapters 37 - 38

Husband and Wife cover Exodus chapter 37: The Furnishings of the Tabernacle; and chapter 38: The Court of the Tabernacle / The Supervision of the Work / The Metal of the Sanctuary. We discover that "donations" were actually taxes because the writers were clearly all liars. Still wondering, wtf is a shekel? And why is Husband being such a whiney ?

In Exodus chapters 37 and 38, we read about the construction of the Tabernacle, a portable sanctuary that the Israelites would use to worship God during their journey in the wilderness. The chapters describe in detail the materials and measurements of the Tabernacle, as well as the specific instructions that God gave to Moses for its construction.

From an atheist perspective, these chapters can be seen as a collection of myths or legends that were created by the ancient Israelites to explain the origins of their religion. The descriptions of the Tabernacle are likely based on real objects that the Israelites used for worship, but the specific instructions and measurements are likely to be exaggerated or fictional.

The chapters also reflect the Israelites' belief in a hierarchical and patriarchal society. The Tabernacle is described as being divided into three parts, with the innermost part being reserved for the high priest. This reflects the Israelites' belief that only the high priest could have direct access to God.

Overall, Exodus chapters 37 and 38 provide a glimpse into the religious beliefs and practices of the ancient Israelites. While these chapters may not be historically accurate, they do offer valuable insights into the development of Judaism.

Here are some specific examples of how the chapters can be interpreted from an atheist perspective:

  • The description of the Tabernacle as being made of gold, silver, and precious stones can be seen as a way of glorifying God and the Israelites' religion.
  • The instructions for the construction of the Tabernacle are so detailed that they are unlikely to have been based on actual events. This suggests that they may have been created later, as a way of preserving the Israelites' religious traditions.
  • The division of the Tabernacle into three parts reflects the Israelites' belief in a hierarchical society, with the high priest at the top. This belief is also reflected in the Bible's description of other aspects of Israelite society, such as the monarchy.

[00:00:00] Husband! Yes, wife? Let's read the Bible. But we're Atheists. Why would we want to do such a thing?

[00:00:05] Because we live in small-town USA and everyone around us quotes this thing extensively

[00:00:11] and we have no idea how to respond. That's true. Neither of us grew up with religion,

[00:00:16] yet Christianity is playing a huge part in our country's politics. We're not scholars or

[00:00:21] academics so Sacrilegious Discourse is our first take reaction. This feed houses our reading of

[00:00:26] the book of Exodus and each subsequent book will get its own separate feed too.

[00:00:32] Why are we separating each book? Not all podcast platforms allow access to older episodes.

[00:00:37] This will ensure our listeners don't lose access to any of our previously released material.

[00:00:42] You can find our most recent episodes on our main channel, Sacrilegious Discourse.

[00:00:46] That's right! Make sure to subscribe so you don't miss a single episode.

[00:00:50] Hey you, welcome to Sacrilegious Discourse. I'm husband. I'm wife. And together we're reading the

[00:01:01] Bible. Starting with Genesis and eventually ending with Revelations, we're working through every

[00:01:07] book and offering our Atheists two cents. Four shekels. Yeah, those. We're asking questions

[00:01:14] and pointing out all the nonsense. We aren't academics or scholars. Nope! In fact when it

[00:01:18] comes to religion, we really don't know anything at all. What we've learned so far is that

[00:01:24] God's a dick. Oh, he really is isn't he? If you're interested in how we reached this startling

[00:01:30] conclusion, maybe start from episode one. Otherwise jump in anywhere. It's all good. Yep!

[00:01:49] Husband. Wife. Hey. Hey. How's it going? Uh, it's going. So I know that we just did

[00:01:58] a surprise bonus episode on Easter. We did. We didn't even like announce that ahead of time.

[00:02:03] We're kind of really bad promoters and stuff, you know. But it was fun though. It was. I'm kind of

[00:02:07] like got in past our last podcast and we're like, hey Easter. Easter! That's a, you know,

[00:02:13] religion. Holiday isn't it? Yeah. Wow. Yeah. We should probably do something. Yeah. So hope

[00:02:18] you guys enjoyed that. That was fun. But um, I'm pretty sure that because of that you

[00:02:23] do not remember at all what happened during our actual last episode. Do you? I don't know. It

[00:02:30] still feels like we're talking about shopping lists for the fucking arc and finishing all that

[00:02:34] shit up. Yeah. So like it feels like it never ends because they just go over the same goddamn thing

[00:02:38] like 500 times. Yeah. First they talk about it, then they made the list for it, then they built

[00:02:43] it, then he gave them skills to build it and then now they're decorating it and organizing

[00:02:48] it or something. Then they were like re-listed it again. Yeah. Yeah. So um, oh and then

[00:02:54] the people got frustrated because people were just donating too much. Oh, that's right. Yeah.

[00:03:00] I hate it when people donate too many things. You guys could never donate too much just FYI. Oh my

[00:03:05] God. Seriously? That was not supposed to be a lead-in. I'm sorry. I'm just, I'm taking any

[00:03:11] opportunity, you know? I'm just gonna, I'm gonna go with it. That's all you. That is not me.

[00:03:15] I know. That is not, I don't think that's okay. That donate button, it's in the link of all

[00:03:20] of our podcasts. So anyway, so today we are going to be reading Exodus chapters 37 and 38. All right.

[00:03:30] One more housekeeping thing here because I didn't have a good intro into this one but

[00:03:34] be sure to check out our new podcast. Be sure to check out our new website that we have,

[00:03:41] sacreligistiscourse.com where we are selling products that I have designed now.

[00:03:47] I'm doing the designs and we're selling so that we can make money. Oh my God. So anyway,

[00:03:54] my favorite item that you listed there is the t-shirt that's got like staggering guy or it

[00:03:59] looks like a zombie or something and then you wrote under it, why so drunk Noah? Yeah.

[00:04:04] That's why he wrote it. And if you listen to our early episodes that would

[00:04:08] make a lot of sense. Because he was a drunk ass. He was. All right. We're gonna get on with

[00:04:13] those chapters that you just mentioned. 37 and 38. Yeah, those ones. All right.

[00:04:25] Hey wife. Yes husband. Did you know that we are now on Patreon?

[00:04:30] Yes because you told me but also no tell me more.

[00:04:35] So we're on Patreon now. Are we? We are and our supporters can go there and support us

[00:04:40] and we have multiple levels all the way up to You Killed God. That sounds really drastic

[00:04:46] and escalated quickly ish. Well no, there's multiple levels before there. So that's

[00:04:51] escalates on the sliding scale of cheap to not cheap but we can definitely use any amount. So

[00:04:58] like any support is always appreciated. So what exactly is Patreon? It's a place where you can

[00:05:05] show your support for our podcast. Just our podcast? Any podcast or any performer but

[00:05:10] you know we're the ones that you're listening to right now so maybe you should

[00:05:14] you know support us. That'd be awesome. That would be awesome but we love you anyway. So all you

[00:05:19] got to do is go to Patreon, look up Sacrilegious Discourse. It's actually patreon.com forward slash

[00:05:23] Sacrilegious Discourse is our actual main page there so head on over and send us some love.

[00:05:30] Yeah okay so Exodus chapter 37 the furnishings of the tapernacle.

[00:05:41] Next Bezalel made the arc of acacia wood a secret chest 45 inches long 27 inches high.

[00:05:53] I know it's pain. Pain my brain is in pain and 27 inches high he overlaid it inside and outside

[00:06:00] with pure gold and he ran a molding of gold all around it because God's all about that gold

[00:06:06] about that gold. He cast four gold rings and attached them to its four feet two rings on

[00:06:12] each side then he made poles from acacia wood and overlaid them with gold. He inserted the poles

[00:06:17] into the rings at the side of the arc to carry it. No shit really? Yeah that's what I did. I would

[00:06:22] never fucking guess that. That's what those carrying poles were for. Huh they were for carrying.

[00:06:26] I mean I didn't get it the first 25 times but I think I might have it this time. I'm sure that

[00:06:32] they'll say it again just in case you didn't. I mean like they make the people sound really

[00:06:36] simple you know. You gotta tell them like you know I'm two times but you only have to tell

[00:06:42] them once to go stab each other right that worked pretty quickly yeah we're only gonna cover that one

[00:06:46] once then he made the arcs cover the place of atonement from pure gold gold. Shocked. It was 45

[00:06:54] inches long and 27 inches wide he made two cherubim from hammered gold gold yeah gold and placed

[00:07:02] them on the two ends of the atonement cover he molded the cherubim on each end of the atonement

[00:07:07] cover making it all of one piece of gold. The cherubim faced each other and looked down on the

[00:07:13] atonement cover with their wings spread above it they protected it. Look I know they were using

[00:07:18] other material like bronze and silver and stuff so I wasn't entirely certain but there is a lot

[00:07:24] of gold so there's a lot of fucking gold in this. I want to know how statues of cherubim are protecting

[00:07:32] anything like are they coming to life? Are they gonna come to life? Is that what we have in store?

[00:07:39] Maybe I don't know. I hope you learn more about that that could be cool. Maybe they just like

[00:07:47] I don't fucking know where were you going you just you just drifted off yeah well I mean I

[00:07:53] was thinking maybe with all like the anointing oils and all the crap that they put on it maybe like if

[00:07:58] you start like messing with the cherubims on there they're like they alert the cherubims and

[00:08:02] they're like okay cherubims unite it's time to go get those fuckers up the arc because they're

[00:08:08] trying to get in oh my god that I'm glad you didn't say that and I wish you hadn't said it the

[00:08:14] second time yeah it's stupid sorry then Bezalel made the table of acacia wood 36 inches long

[00:08:21] 18 inches wide and 27 inches high he overlaid it with pure gold and ran a gold molding around the

[00:08:28] edge he decorated it with a three inch border all around and he ran a gold molding all along the

[00:08:35] border then he cast four gold rings for the table and attached them at the four corners next to

[00:08:41] the four legs the rings were attached near the border to hold the poles that were used to

[00:08:46] carry the table hmm he made these poles from acacia wood and overlaid them with gold then he made

[00:08:53] special containers of pure oh my god gold for the table bowls ladles jars and pitchers to be

[00:09:01] used in pouring out liquid offerings then Bezalel made the lampstand of pure hammered gold

[00:09:08] we just had a curiosity though where the hell is uh what was the other guy's name a holy ab

[00:09:13] the guy yeah holy ab oh damn Bezalel doing everything maybe oh maybe maybe a holy ab did

[00:09:17] like the drapes and stuff yeah he could be like the linens like uh whatever you call him

[00:09:23] he said seam well you know what i'm the seamster or something you know seamster yeah the sewee

[00:09:29] guy sewee guy and this is the buildy guy right he made the entire lampstand and his

[00:09:36] decorations of one piece the base center stem lamp cups buds and petals sorry i had a hard time

[00:09:44] with that yeah the lampstand had six branches going out from the center stem three on each side

[00:09:49] each of the six branches had three lamp cups shaped like almond blossoms complete with buds

[00:09:54] and petals i bet that was really pretty i'm sure it was because he was um a master craftsman

[00:10:01] yeah yeah but oh okay let me let me ask i mean i'm just saying like we're talking about master

[00:10:08] craftsman back in like before the birth of christ right yeah so like what kind of tools

[00:10:15] do they work with and exactly how mastery craftsmen shippy were these things i don't know

[00:10:20] but we'll never know they could have just been a big sloppy art piece of shit that's

[00:10:25] true the bar was pretty low i'm just saying the center stem of the lampstand was crafted from

[00:10:31] four lamp cups shaped like almond blossoms complete with buds and petals there was an almond bud beneath

[00:10:36] each pair of branches were the six branches extended from the center stem all made of one piece

[00:10:41] the almond buds and branches were all of one piece with the center stem and they were

[00:10:46] hammered from pure gold i'm kind of done saying gold though no that's your that's your place here

[00:10:52] gold gold he also made seven lamps for the lampstand lamp snuffers and trays all of pure

[00:11:01] gold the entire lampstand along with its accessories was made from 75 pounds of pure gold then bezel

[00:11:08] well made the incense altar of a case of wood it was 18 inches square and 36 inches high with

[00:11:15] horns at the center or i'm sorry at the corners carved from the same piece of wood as the altar

[00:11:20] itself he overlaid the top sides and horns of the altar with pure gold and he ran a gold molding

[00:11:28] around the entire altar he made two fucking gold rings and attached them on opposite sides of the

[00:11:35] altar below the gold molding to carry the gold carrying poles he made the poles of a case of

[00:11:43] wood and overlaid them with gold then he made the sacred anointing oil and the fragrant incense

[00:11:50] using the techniques of a skilled incense maker the end that's golden bezel well he's so good at

[00:11:59] everything i i'm attracted to really i i i i need a story i need a fucking story i thought you were

[00:12:09] gonna say i need a cigarette and i was like what i need a fucking story i can't comment on this fucking

[00:12:17] bullshit it's so it's boring boring it's almost as boring as so and so we got so and so we got so

[00:12:25] and so we got so and so i think this is more goddamn boring i mean i don't think it's i think

[00:12:30] it's as boring it's different boring i just i'm sorry that we're boring we might as well be

[00:12:36] reading ikea instructions i that's my joke i know but it's true it is true because it's

[00:12:44] that fucking boring well maybe the next chapter picks up let's see what happens in exodus chapter 38

[00:12:50] all right okay before i start this next chapter uh-huh i just have to comment on something what's

[00:13:03] that so after we finished the last chapter just now yeah we had to take like a 15 minute break

[00:13:09] because we knew that an alarm was going to go off right and that's kind of funny but whatever that's

[00:13:15] not the point the point is that the entire time that we were on that break you were so whiny you

[00:13:21] were whining about how boring this is and then you told me straight out don't make me say gold

[00:13:27] anymore well yeah i don't i can't think of funny things to say when i have to keep saying

[00:13:32] gold every five seconds i just thought that whole thing was worth stating that you were going

[00:13:37] off about the bible and the ark and all the gold well it's 15 straight minutes okay all right

[00:13:44] it's bullshit this is so fucking boring going over the same goddamn things over and over and over

[00:13:51] like come on i'm done with this story already like you know i don't want to cover the ark anymore

[00:13:57] i know it's like 42 feet of this and six inches of that and fucking gold and god damn gold

[00:14:03] and cherubims and carrying poles oh my god and horns fucking horns i mean just enough already

[00:14:10] it's a fucking ark great they build it awesome move along i just thought that our listeners

[00:14:17] deserve to hear that you were a whiny fuck yeah well whatever like you're never a whiny fuck

[00:14:24] oh i never claimed not to be i'm definitely a whiny fuck all right let's get on with this episode

[00:14:30] all right exodus chapter 38 next bezalel used acacia wood to construct the square altar of burnt

[00:14:38] offering it was seven feet wide seven feet long and four feet high he made horns for each of its

[00:14:44] four corners so that the horns and altar were all one piece he overlaid the altar with bronze not

[00:14:50] gold hey yes this is exciting one of the bronze now then he made all the altar utensils of bronze

[00:14:59] the ash buckets shovels basins meat forks and fire pen i just think we haven't even got to the

[00:15:04] fibers yet or the fabric yet oh my god stop so like we still got fabric to go linens very excited

[00:15:11] oh and the the oils and shit oh my god stop just stop so so excited aren't everybody's

[00:15:18] excited with me right come on you're excited next he made a bronze grating and installed it

[00:15:24] halfway down the side of the altar under the ledge he cast four rings and attached them to

[00:15:29] the corners of the bronze grating to hold the carrying poles didn't we cover that the last time

[00:15:34] i'm pretty sure it was the other side i don't know i i stopped keeping up it's hard to care and

[00:15:41] read aloud boringness at the same time i mean my brain is turning into god damn mush as we

[00:15:45] speak so i mean maybe that's the purpose you know oh yeah yeah because if you if you're

[00:15:52] malleable you can you know believe in this shit maybe and if you just like so fucking bored

[00:15:57] you're like yeah whatever god fucking awesome god is great god is good god made an arc of a kasey

[00:16:03] a wood the arc is amazing i made a rhyme and you were like i wasn't paying any god damn attention

[00:16:07] because i was so okay i'm gonna say it again what i was saying so you know i'm gonna say it again

[00:16:11] ready god is great god is good he made an arc of a kasey a wood that's actually pretty good

[00:16:17] see you should stop talking over me now i don't know what i'm yeah he made the poles for my kasey

[00:16:23] a wood and overlaid them with bronze he inserted the poles through the rings on the sides of

[00:16:28] the altar the altar was hollow and was made from planks bezelel made the bronze wash

[00:16:33] wash

[00:16:44] i just have to stop here for a second just in case nobody knows this we tend to do these episodes

[00:16:49] just like straight through one shot every once in a while something that grows really wrong

[00:16:53] we have to redo but generally we just fuck up and move right along move right along so

[00:17:00] just for the record and then you tend to make fun of me well i mean that's what we do which is

[00:17:05] funny because you can't even fucking read out loud so i don't know why i can't that's why you read

[00:17:09] i know i mean i can read out loud but it's really fucking boring and i don't have any inflection

[00:17:13] so yeah there you go okay and you don't pause at periods and commas and i mean you're boring

[00:17:18] i read just fine i just don't read out loud that's what i'm saying you're reading out loud

[00:17:23] voices okay i'm sorry we're really distracted because we're so bored well yeah fucking a kasey

[00:17:29] bezelel made the bronze wash basin and its bronze stand from bronze mirrors donated what's a bronze

[00:17:36] mirror donated by the women who served at the entrance of the tabernacle that doesn't seem

[00:17:41] very effective does it yeah it's not very reflective oh look at that shiny metal that i can't see

[00:17:45] anything in right yeah what is a okay whatever it's reflecting light but next section the court

[00:17:54] the court of the tabernacle now we're building a court okay like a tennis court i don't know

[00:18:00] i hope so that'd be more fun then bezelel made the courtyard how do you make a courtyard

[00:18:05] i thought a courtyard was like plants and stuff i don't i mean i'm sure they're gonna

[00:18:10] fucking tell us so yeah why did i ask which was enclosed with curtains oh that's see this is where

[00:18:16] the curtains run to the fabrics now made a finely woven linen but did you notice that bezelel

[00:18:21] is still doing this and a holy ab is nowhere to be found yet we didn't we read literally one sentence

[00:18:28] and you've already decided well who made it you don't know i don't know it just seems like awfully

[00:18:34] like they're they're discriminating against the tribe of dan so i mean that's what it feels

[00:18:38] like maybe the tribe of dan is a bunch of drunkasses you don't know maybe okay well let me keep

[00:18:43] reading okay finely woven linen on the south side the curtains were 150 feet long they were

[00:18:48] held up by 20 posts set securely in 20 bronze bases he so yeah he hung the curtains with silver

[00:18:58] hooks and rings he made a similar set of curtains for the north side 150 feet of curtains held up

[00:19:03] by 20 posts set securely in bronze bases he hung the curtains with silver hooks and rings the

[00:19:10] curtains on the west end of the courtyard were 75 feet long hung with silver hooks and rings

[00:19:15] and supported by 10 posts set into 10 bases is everybody keeping up here not even a little bit

[00:19:22] the east end the front was also 75 feet long the courtyard entrance was on the east end

[00:19:28] flanked by two curtains east east end okay the curtain on the right side was 22 feet long and

[00:19:34] was supported by three posts set into three bases three okay i got it the curtain on the left

[00:19:39] side was also 22 feet long and was supported by three posts set into three bases i'm gonna

[00:19:44] i'm gonna get on building this tomorrow so both sides were the same and they couldn't just say

[00:19:51] each side was blah blah blah with the fucking same yeah all the curtains used in the courtyard

[00:19:55] were made of guess what finely woven linen yeah yeah i even know what colors i think they were

[00:20:01] like red and five weren't they like oh shit i don't remember wasn't it like red blue and

[00:20:07] purple basically yeah seems like that was about right yeah each post had a bronze base and

[00:20:12] all the hooks and rings were silver so we did gold then we did bronze and now we're at silver right

[00:20:18] the tops of the posts of the courtyard were overlaid with silver and the rings to hold up the curtains

[00:20:22] were made of silver he made the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard of finely woven linen

[00:20:27] and he decorated it with here we go beautiful embroidery in blue purple and scarlet right

[00:20:33] oh we're so close blue purple scarlet basically right but you know yeah it was 30 feet long

[00:20:39] and it's height was seven feet just like the curtains of the courtyard walls it was supported

[00:20:43] by four posts each set securely in its own bronze base the tops of the posts were overlaid with silver

[00:20:49] and the hooks and rings were also made of silver all the tent pegs used in the tapper

[00:20:54] knuckle and courtyard were made of bronze okay okay i mean that that's you know i have to say

[00:21:00] this is this is very important if you're um writing a bible apparently yeah and you need

[00:21:06] to know this stuff because it's gonna matter in in the afterlife you know it's really funny like um

[00:21:13] as a writer um i'm encouraged often to to make um a story bible and you know what we don't include

[00:21:21] in our story bibles what any of this shit right i mean that kind of goes without saying because

[00:21:29] like i feel like and we've talked about editors before but i feel like an editor will be like

[00:21:34] okay you need to lose this entire chapter right the last entire chapter the one before that

[00:21:41] and like the five before that because it's it's it's much and and even the one that you just

[00:21:48] described at the first time you need to like cut it down you need to shorten it that means

[00:21:52] like we can scrap about like 10 pages here right okay right the supervision of the work

[00:21:59] this is an inventory of the materials used in building the tapper knuckle of the covenant

[00:22:05] the levites compiled the figures as moses directed and ithomar son of erin the priest

[00:22:12] served as recorder bezalel of yuri son grandson of her of the tribe of juda made everything

[00:22:19] just as the lord had commanded moses he was assisted by your holy ab a holy ab there he is

[00:22:25] son of a hystima of the tribe of dan a craftsman expert at engraving designing and embroidering

[00:22:32] with blue purple and scarlet that's why he didn't actually make the stuff he just embroidered it and

[00:22:38] and um engraved it yeah so like he did all the fancy stuff yeah but but uh dude bezalel dude

[00:22:46] yeah build all this shit yeah okay um i'm an embroidering with blue purple and scarlet

[00:22:52] thread on fine linen cloth okay the medal of the sanctuary the people brought special offerings of

[00:22:59] gold totaling 2193 pounds damn such a random number though it really is they got that down yeah

[00:23:08] they got it exact exact right as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel okay the

[00:23:15] weight what the fuck is a sanctuary shekel i thought shekel was a type of money i did too

[00:23:20] so how does shekel's measure stuff this gold was used throughout the tabernacle hold on you know

[00:23:25] how i told you i was gonna mention we need to look stuff we need to look up shekels we really

[00:23:29] need to look and find out what the fuck a shekel is yeah and how much it was worth then versus

[00:23:33] how much it's worth now right the whole community of israel gave 7 545 pounds of silver

[00:23:41] as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel this silver came from the tax collected

[00:23:46] from each man registered in the census oh here's some interesting information oh so it wasn't given up

[00:23:52] by those that were willing it was given up by everybody because they fucking collected this

[00:23:56] is a tax at the census and that definitely was not fucking voluntary yeah yeah kind of like how

[00:24:03] they call slave servants right yeah it's the whole whitewashing of everything right the tax is

[00:24:10] one becca b e k a okay which is half a shekel based on the sanctuary shekel so it's like maybe the

[00:24:21] sanctuary shekel is like a standard standard bearer form of this payment method that is weighted

[00:24:28] and therefore like a shekel has to be weighed to equal so many sanctuary shekels yeah that sounds

[00:24:36] smart but i don't care right the tax was collected from oh see tax was collected from six thousand no

[00:24:44] i'm sorry 603,550 men who had reached their 20th birthday that went very fast from a donation

[00:24:54] to a tax you remember how they were giving too much yeah they were like oh where was there

[00:24:58] too many pieces of wood i mean your tax collectors were collecting too much is what

[00:25:03] you're saying now right like you know and they even changed it up just within this chapter because

[00:25:08] it started off as donation yeah and then went to tax yeah okay fucking liars yeah the hundred bases for

[00:25:16] the frames of the sanctuary walls and for the post supporting the inner curtain required 7,500

[00:25:22] pounds of silver about 75 pounds for each base Jesus that is ridiculous and i'm sorry but any god

[00:25:31] demanding this is just totally power hungry and childish right and like totally if you guys just

[00:25:38] want to donate one base to us i'm good with just a mere 75 pounds of silver i'll take a shekel

[00:25:44] i'll take a shekel yeah i mean shekels are good too but i mean i'm just saying like one one base

[00:25:50] that'd be good yeah i mean i guess i'm just saying the remaining 45 pounds of silver was used

[00:25:56] to make the hooks and rings and to overlay the tops of the posts the people also brought a special

[00:26:02] offerings 5,310 pounds of bronze which was used for casting the bases for the post at the entrance

[00:26:10] to the tabernacle and for the bronze altar with its bronze grating and all the altar utensils

[00:26:16] now they said that that was an offering a special offering but that's essentially what they said

[00:26:22] by special offering they mean i took that shit and made it special i mean i think what they mean is

[00:26:28] that those people done fucked up they're like you need to get some extra shit and bring it up here

[00:26:33] yeah i think it was still a goddamn tax probably and if we looked into it more i'm sure that's what

[00:26:38] we would find out because nothing's voluntary they're fucking forcing these people yeah i mean

[00:26:42] they're essentially making them do this at the point of death you know like and

[00:26:46] who's not gonna do it build this or get cast out a a die yeah it's bullshit yeah bronze was also used

[00:26:53] to make the bases for the posts that supported the curtains around the courtyard the basis for

[00:26:58] the curtain at the entrance of the courtyard and all the tent pegs for the tabernacle and the courtyard

[00:27:03] the end okay i really hope we got a story next week i mean i could peek ahead but i'm not going

[00:27:09] to no i'm not going to no spoilers no spoilers you gotta stick around and find out that shit

[00:27:14] yeah i mean we gotta read this crap so you guys at least come with us yeah so next week we will be

[00:27:37] in my entire life of the bible well yeah i mean red like after having read so much so far

[00:27:44] i don't think it was without cause that i haven't read it but you know what i'm just saying like

[00:27:49] so far is like eh no big loss yeah but still i mean there's like a hundred billion trillion other

[00:27:55] chapter or books of the bible so you know maybe it picks up i don't think so i don't think it

[00:28:02] does either but hopefully our humor can carry people through this and we can all suffer in
